I can name when Batman defeated Superman, in the mainstream he defeated a rogue Superman by using a kryptonite ring, in the Dark Knight Returns an elderly Batman using Dark Knight Armour like this and without the need of kryptonite he destroys Superman. Tower of Babel every main member of the Justice League was defeated using Batman's plans.

@comichero75 Also the only reason Superman didn't die was because Ra's Al Ghul wasn't focused on killing the league, he just used it to give him time to do his plan. If it was a one on one fight Superman would have been toast, but since Ra's had to defeat many other league members plus enact his plans. Also Batman created Red Kryptonite in the comics just to stop Superman temporarily so he wouldn't need to kill him. Otherwise he could easily kill him with Green Kryptonite.

So they powered him down a lot so that people can relate to him more. Precrisis superman could destroy a galaxy by sneezing postcrisis superman was beaten to death by doomsday. The superman you see in the JL cartoon is the postcrisis version. powerful but not godlike
