  • @randonthingsthatidk

    Jojo is from Get back

  • I love all the covers in this movie. It's like getting a glimpse of what the Beatles' songs were really about.

  • I LOVE this song soo much

  • the police men won't let Jude and Lucy be together.Thats just rude from the police.I mean if i ever see that happen in real love, it might sad, or break my heart.

  • Max looks like Jared Leto here..

  • This is the best scene of the whole movie, and everytime I watch it, I get goosebumps.

  • this gives me chills every time

  • Om

  • The Naked Bodies At The End Are Fucking Wierd.

  • @hottiemarkable cry about it. its symbolism, not just naked bodies.

  • Jude- Hey Jude

    Max- Maxwell's Silver Hammer

Lucy- Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds

    Sadie- Sexy Sadie

    Prudence- Dear Prudence

  • @randomthingsthatidk Don't forget Mr Kite- Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite

  • @randomthingsthatidk and Jojo is from 'Get Back'

  • @rarefiednight GET BACK JOJO

  • I've just noticed that Janis Joplin - for some reason - has not been mentioned in the past few months' comments, so... Janis Joplin.

    There, I did it.

  • makes me cry everytime, it also makes me angry, and jst mixed emotions

  • Is there a music track that has both these songs in it as it is presented in the movie?

  • Did anyone else get chills?

  • 17 people who diliked this are going to hell

  • the combination of these two songs sounds........two good for words!

  • Anyone thinking this was butchered obviously needs their head examined. She does an amazing job!

  • Helter Skelter was nice, but Across The Universe was much more beautiful.

  • really???????????? she does it perfectly and embodies Sexy Sadie like a glove... those who think this is butchered?? where were you in the 60's? perhaps you simply weren't there. I was and this is beautiful!

  • I like the across the universe song but the helter skelter wasnt sung with its style

  • i love this cover, but i think motley crue did a better one :P

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS COVER. might be the best cover of the beatles ive heard (the helter skelter part)

  • I love how well they did with Song references and people references in this movie. Dana Fuchs(Sadie) is obviously modeled after Sexy Sadie a song by The Beatles, but she is also Janis Joplin because she fell in love with Jojo, who is portrayed as Martin Luther but is also JImmi Hendrix. With Jim Sturgess they made him obviously Jude from Hey Jude by The Beatles and he obviously looks like Paul Mccartney in his younger years. With Dr. Robert, well this is a song about a Dr. Robert. FAVORITE MOVIE

  • @RissaShell14 And Lucy, i think is Linda

  • @jesusandthebeatles well the whole movie is based around the vietnam war and those model mannnequin things if you didnt notice had an oriental look. and most of the vietnamese during the time died in the water trying to get away from the war. which just goes to show that in the war everyone died.

  • @ohmynazzy rugs are oriental, not people

  • @ohmynazzy actually, Julie Taymor said it were fallen woman who got raped.

  • @ohmynazzy oriental is a very archaic way of referring to people of Asian descent. It's like calling people who are African American "colored".

  • when i see jude on the floor bleeding and max at war shooting for his life, it makes me sad :(

  • 3:32 NOO Poor Jude!

  • What the heck were those things falling in the water at the end? They're frigging creepy!

  • greaat!!!

  • @princessriley123 i'm pretty sure they're yelling "strike" not "fight" judging by the sign in the background at 1:28 ...

  • so powerful...

  • My absolute favorite part of my movie. The combination of anger, violence, and passion. Beautiful.

  • everyone talks about the Helter Skelter part. What about Across the Universe?! lol don't get me wrong, i love her version on helter skelter, but Across the Universe is the main reason why i even watch this part.

  • There were a lot of WTF moments in this movie. I told my smoker friends to watch this when they are high and they told me they felt like they were smokig the best joint ever made lol

  • How can she sing when this is happening??!!?! This makes me wanna cry!

  • There is irony in the fact that the "peace makers" are yelling 'fight' and they've created a bomb and are actually the ones making chaos, which is made clear when the scenes of the protest are put next to the scenes of the fighting in the war. So were they really making peace?

  • the expression the scene and the songs were very well done in this part, honestly when i watch this scene and listen to the way the music is being expressed is actually quite perfect, just like in the scene where the police officers are trying to control the peace makers, the songs do the EXACT same thing, Helter Skelter isn't much about words but the way its played...err something like that im no sure how to put it in words... dont judge...im trying to make my point :\

  • Oh My Lennon.

  • Those creepy things at the end creeped me the fuck out !! Wat were they?

  • @banana8shake it creeped me too D: anybody know what were those suicidal blue females?

  • @banana8shake In my opinion they represent the vietnamese who were a harmonious people but were thrown down by the war. That would explain why it is in max's head

  • ...is this sped up?

  • i love how all of the songs were sung live while they were filming. soo creative, one of my faves :)

  • I get chills every time I watch this. Amazing.

  • Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,

They slither while they pass they slip away across the universe(8)

  • the helter skelter part is so sad when theyre calling out to each other! it makes me cry :$

  • i love him. soooo much.

  • 13 people who disliked anything about the beatles have no soul and are going to hell forever

  • love her

  • awww that's so cute that you took the time to tell me that straightfoward answer!! <3 anddd yahh know what's cool!? they have summary's of the movie online ;)

  • WOW O: xd

  • love this movie!!!!!

  • @EkkoRein me to !!!! XD

  • @becomepostal what the fuck? if you don't like it why the hell are you watching this!? ahahaha like honestly? wow.

  • @kmfproductionsable

My trivial answer is that I didn't know I would hate it before I saw it. I hope this straightforward answer will satisfy your curiosity.

Now, if you're able to foresee what you'll think of it before even seeing it, then you can go fuck yourself.

  • @AceKennyA Fuck off!

  • @AceKennyA YOU SUCK BITCH

  • Jim Sturgess = hottest actor alive

  • this... is... the... best... scene... EVER. i love it it's my favorite scene in ANY movie. the best part is when Max looks around and sees what we've done and across the universe starts to play again.

  • This movie is powerful.

  • i love this movie. these songs are not supposed to mork togetehr but they fuckin do.

  • HERMAN LI! LOL! 0:21

  • @8000cheese xD i wish!

  • @blahnessly14 LOOK! LOOK AT HIM!!! IT IS TOTALLY HIM! LOL

  • @8000cheese Hahaha xP

  • 10 people missed the like button!

  • GREAT movie <3

  • when i think of Helter Skelter i dont think of a woman singing it in such an odd way

  • how the frick they they pull that off?

  • @Jaemseh You first.

  • @phreekgirl17 I think it sounds fucking awful.

  • @Jaemseh Then don't listen to it.

  • dana Fuchs has a janis joplin style> I LOVE IT!!!!

  • this is so damn beautiful!!!

  • i love this movie

  • damn it why does that garbage version of helter skelter have to interrupt such a great version of across the universe. its the fuckin title of the movie for fucks sake!

  • Well... if they ever do a Joplin movie, we all know who will play her

  • @Fififlan janis joplin was white

  • @MrBurgundy76 Dana Fuchs is whit, but i dont think that even matters, she has a killer voice

  • her voice remember janis joplin

  • The Vietnamese girls at the end always make me feel so terrible inside.

They represent all the Vietnamese people being in peace, then suddenly falling..

  • whos singing?

  • made me cry :'(

  • I love the Across the Universe cover, but I don't really like the Helter Skelter cover. I think the Beatles are better..:/

  • of all musicals using great bands' songs, across the universe has the best plot.

i doubt you have even seen it, besides on youtube O_o

  • for sure

  • Wow. I thought I was the only one who felt that way.

  • by the looks on all the faces of the people on the subway, you coulda played Eleanor Rigby also for that, everyone looks so sad and lonely

  • that looks and sounds like joplin

  • yea, shes got an AWESOME voice

  • every time i hear helter skelter, i see her waving her hair around and everything.

she most certainly DID NOT "butcher" this song.

  • @TicTacJoe134 ya she did this whole movie did!

  • @TicTacJoe134 What? She did butcher the song. How does it go from a cam and easy to Rock and Roll? It's just not the way it's suppoe to be.

    **My opinion.

  • @TicTacJoe134 OMG I know right?! one of my favourite scenes!! the hair part. awesome!! but, I say every scene is my favourite :P I've seen the movie amillion zillion batrillion times, and i NEVER EVER get bored. its so awesome!! very well done, I get goosebumps when I watch it. Except the double funeral part (Let it Be), that part makes me cry EVERYTIME I watch it.

  • @woozy11285 she´s sexy sadie

  • @woozy11285 It definitely fits the song. I actually don't like her voice in most of the other songs in the film, but it fits Helter Skelter perfectly.

  • @nnboy12

I thought they actually did a really good job. They did ruin some songs, however. But not Helter Skelter.

  • i like this scene cause Across the Universe is a great song sung by Jim Sturgess and how the director/producers tied it to Helter Skelter

  • 3:46 is when this scene hits me like a ton of bricks. Max looks like such a baby so scared and frightened. It just shows you the casualties of wars are the young men, no, boys( and now girls) that are dying in the name of their country.

  • @ksb78 I agree completely.

  • What's with the freaky asian chicks at the end?

  • they were in the Dear Prudence scene too. I think they represent the Vietnamese casualties

  • Joe Cocker IS THE PIMP!!

  • Ooooh, this clip always give me chills. It's just pure emotion, like much of the rest of the movie, which is why I love it so much. ^_^

  • One of the best scenes from the best movie ever. It's so artistic and totally just hits you emotionally.

    Truly amazing!

  • i just love the way the reality of it strikes your emotions like a passing shard of glass

  • so odd to see the movie put together the way it is, dealing with the time frame it was placed, then listening to this part, and seeing, that nothing really has changed for today......

  • This part of tha movie touched my heart so profoundly, i really love it

  • i love this movie

its truly a work of art

  • greatest sequence in a musical ever.

  • I think Julie Taymor is amazing.

  • i love the artistic contrast between the the radical sound and forcefulness of "helter skelter" overlapping the smooth pacifistic sound of "across the universe"

  • Very astute. So true. Love this song.

  • best scene of the whole movie!

  • So, who are all the characters based off of? So far I just know that JoJo is based off of Jimi Hendrix.

  • Jojo, like u said

    Sadie based on Janis Joplin

    Max based on Kurt Cobain

    Jude - John Lennon/Paul McCartney (?)

These are the main icons that i recognized.. there may be more. The way I see it the rest are rather representing issues that ppl struggled with in those times (Prudence, for example). The names were chosen from The Beatles' songs...

  • Also, the guy in New York singing 'Come together' when Jojo gets there, reminds me of Joe Cocker...

  • It is

  • in the scene for come together, the hobo, the hippy, and the pimp r all joe cocker.

  • actually in come together, the pimp is eddie izzard, the same one that sings for the benefit of Mr. Kite

  • No Joe Cocker is the pimp in Come Together

  • @TheMasterOfDrums

Joe Cocker is singing this song as each character, even the pimp.

  • Max is NOT Kurt Cobain, its from "Maxwell's silver hammer"

    Jude is Hey jude, stupidass

  • All the names in the movie are from Beatles' songs. Yes, Max's name comes from the song you mentioned. Yet the actor, I believe, was chosen to look like Kurt Cobain and have his persona. Just like Sadie was made to look like Janis and so on. I hope it's clearer now, what I meant when I said that. :) It is my opinion that giving this extra bit to the characters in the movie was meant as a more or less subtle tribute to a few iconic musicians that we have had since the 60's. No need to agree :)

  • good point, yet kurt was 90's. It is an interesting though.

  • This is why I said *since* the 60's. :) Jim Morrison could have fit in there quite nicely as well, unless he's there and I didn't figure it out, (just like the Joe Cocker thing).

  • Oh sorry i misread, what was your faveorite part of the movie??

  • More than one part :P

    - the musical dialogue between Jojo and Sadie (I thought singing "I' never do you no harm' while having a fight was quite ironic, lol )

    - the bowling alley piece

    - Max and Jude reuniting, near the end, where Max shouts Jude's name through the fence. I thought that was a really nice way to blend the song and the action.

    And yours?

  • I also have a few. I am the Walrus and Mr. Kite scences, and then the "starwberry fields forever"seen. I also somewhat enjoyed THE ENTIRE MOVIE! beginning rox, and "I want you" is good, And "Let it Be" was so heartbreaking

  • And Jojo is "Get Back". Duh.

  • JoJo looks like hendrix

  • and sadie looks like janis.

    that's the point

  • thats who hes based off of

  • I agree The "sadie" person Sucked but"Jude" wasnt as horrible.

  • why does everything sound like its in a higher pitch?

  • Dear god, how riveting.

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously you have no understanding of music. And should die a painful death.

  • Lmao.

Obviously you're a prick who needs to spend some time in the outside world rather than judging my personal taste in music and attempting to insult (horribly may I add) me. How high school. Do you feel all superior now?

    Get a life.

  • this actually isn't the right version thats in the movie, they put a way better cover in the movie with the different scene

  • Yes it was in the movie but Helter Skelter was played in 2 different scenes.

  • If Sadie was suppose to be the Janis Joplin character she did a good job.

Now I'd kinda like to hear what it would sound like if Janis Joplin sang this.

  • The end of this clip was perfect. Really disturbing.

  • this was the perfect way to mix these songs. "Nothings gonna change my world" silently sung beneath the protest and helter skelter representing the craziness of the times while the police and people passing are mouthing "notings gonna change my world". not many people understand that

  • Probably one of my favorite scenes from this movie- the 2 songs mixed very well

  • Agree, No one can beat the Beatles. But this movie did some really great covers and I really liked it :)

  • Love this movie! but who else gets the chills from the girls at the end

  • You would never think of combining these two totally different songs, but it worked! Great scene

  • the movie was OK, it ruined a couple of otherwise good songs but Let It Be and this version of Helter Skelter were amazing.

  • i didn't like blackbird at all

  • What do you expect, Nobody can even be compared to the Beatles, but they did amazing
