  • Fucking eh... I just shed a tear... I cant put into words how proud I am to be Canadian...

  • True north strong and free! Fuckin right!

  • Someone tell me how to pronounce his last name!

  • @Tardis910 its something like Koi-zan...

  • So proud to be Canadian!! Happy Canada Day everyone!!!

  • Shane your definition will always resonate

  • Thumbs up if you feel those pride goosebumps. :)

  • best opening ceremoney ive ever seen

  • One person who watched this has never experienced my Canada!

  • the only good thing that has come out of America is vannila coke.

  • @JagerBommb That's debateable

  • That is soooo perfect!! I am so proud to live in Canada and to be a Canadian!!!

  • *America* was an experiment and Canada has come the closest to making it a complete reality. The United States has been deconstructing the experiment for the past 100 years. Mexico never stood a chance.

This poem moved me to tears of joy as I watched the opening ceremony....and I am not even Canadian. I am a Missourian.

  • I was in the opening ceremony. And I saw many Canadians next to me who start crying - I can understand them

  • thats one hell of a neck beard

  • God this gives me chills. I am proud to call myself Canadian.

  • gives me chills everytime..

  • This opening was the best I've ever seen. Canada amazing.

  • It's a great pleasure, seeing that Canada introduced a (slam) poet as the performer of Canada at the Olympic Games. It's a greater flash than the Benjamin Bratt-movie "Pinero" - although that's an excellent one. Shane Koyczan is a hero of the world's slam poetry. I'm a slammer from Hungary, Europe, and I feel giant pride for Shane's performance. This fat but talent guy, Koyczan gave glory to Canada.

  • I get shivers and I'm American. Maybe because it's the same pride I feel about being American, that sense of diversity and "All are Welcomed'. Viva América del Norte!

  • chills

  • i have seen this video over 15 times. i can repeat every word, yet every time i watch this i get shivers and goose bumps!!!!! I am so proud to be Canadian watching this video.

  • This gives me goosebumps, and I also shed a few tears. The olympics gave Canada a chance to show that WE ARE MORE, and we did. To experience the roar of the crowds after Crosby's goal in my hometown of Vancouver, we experienced a dream come true.

Vancouver 2010: a memory to last a lifetime.

  • Doesn't this just make one so proud to live in a country called Canada. It's like the icing on the cake.

  • this guy is amazing he came and spoke at my school was really cool

  • Love it. One of my more favs parts of the ceremony.

  • This reminded me of what it truly is to be Canadian and to be proud of my country. Thank you Shane!

  • Makes me want to be Canadian!

  • it still sends chills down my spine :)

  • omngg does the exact same thing to me

  • epic. need a better quality vid. anyone find one..let me know

  • favourite part of the opening ceremonies

makes me proud to be Canadian!

  • Love his way of expressing his poems, he is a very talented man!

  • The entire artistic presentation blew the doors off the building, but Shane's performance of "We Are More" qualifies as the apex of a truly defining Canadian moment that lifted the roof right off the building.

  • AMAZING
