thanks for the history - Ruth Richter has a copy of the original logbook - I forwarded her your comment, maybe she can find the entry - we all know the date.
I was a colleague of ex-TWA F/E Pat Tobin, and he told me a story or two about this 12A - it had taken some TWA execs to Arkansas for duck hunting Dec. 6 1941. Along the way it had lost an engine - and the TWA crew were changing the engine when the Pearl Harbor news came in.
jetblue is a great airline but i bet they can be even better if they partnered wit spirit air and become a merger wit spirit's low fares and jetblue's customer service
Yes that's Randy Kramer! Who else. this was certainly a trip of a lifetime - what wonderful people - so many helped to make this an journey memorable. Of all the Lockheed 12A Electra planes to survive (originally 125 were built), only 22 are registered and of the 22 only about 5 are still about to fly. this was the only 12A owned by TWA - Ruth and Curt brought her home.
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful plane with us at NYC and JFK Airport-with the opening of Terminal 5!!! Wonderful footage of the flight. Something to always remember.
Not to my knowledge. This was the only L12A Electra that they owned. it was never set up for commercial use.

Did TWA ever use the larger L-10 Electra?
