Actually Diablo 2's graphics are based on small resolution sprites and tiles. That's why changing the resolution doesn't do anything else than just make everything in game small

game sucks like that a lot of the later game difficulty is derived from monsters speed and suprise, if i could see where i was teleing 6 teles infront of me, teleing is not longer a challenge, you lose a lot (of skill) by adding all that extra space

2560x1600 is too much. I found 1600x1200 to be just right balance of "too small" to "to low res". Besides you'll be chugging later on in the game. I have an HD3870 512mb card and it still slows down using the higher resolutions. 1600x1200 minimizes it.

google 3Dfx Glide Wrapper ,it makes d2 run without lag,no matter how many skeletons or magic stuff that happends,also to have lagfree item pickings at boss deaths,when the cd spins up is, just have daemon tools run an image of the game instead of the cd running
