To be with a man who will control you, smash up your belongings, try and alienate you from your family, hit you LIKE your a man, break your bones, and demand that you account for your whereabouts almost every minute. This vid speaks to me as a woman. But as I said before, I know there are men out there as well who endure abuse from women also.
This video is only one side of domestic violence... take your statistics that are way off the subject matter and post them where they are more appropriate. And stop arguing over facts that constantly change from day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute, second by second.
jbgood3? You AGAIN!? So you do go on every DV against Women and post your 'message' that men are in the same danger as women. Why not post your own videos promoting your 'male abuse' message? THIS issue is violence against women, which you know because you post on most of them!
"Why not post your own videos promoting your 'male abuse' message? THIS issue is violence against women" (sedrn)
Let me point something out to you: This is; 1) a public forum; and; 2) an issue that involves men. If you don't want men to participate, then I suggest you piss off and create your own feminist video site!!!
Oz-Don't talk to my wife like that again. Maybe your use to talking with disrespect to people or your upbringing is showing, hence your comments. This is also not the place for verbal abuse. There is more to the issues here than is space to discuss. All the best to all of you.
"Oz-Don't talk to my wife like that again ... There is more to the issues here than is space to discuss" (sedrn's husband)
There was enough space for jbgood3 to present credible evidence that contradicts the one sided view of DV in the video and comments! And, there was enough space for your wife to debate jbgood3!
But instead, your wife arrogantly believed that she was entitled to start dictating who could and could not post on this PUBLIC FORUM! Who appointed her moderator, eh?
The UK home office Research Study 191 Domestic Violence was first released in 1999 [1] 4.2% of women and 4.2% of men said they had been physically assaulted by a current or former partner in the last year. 4.9% of men and 5.9% of women had experienced physical assault and/or frightening threats.
There are a couple of guys (1 guy with several accounts) going on all the DV against women and promoting an agenda that women abuse men as much or more. It distracts from the real issue to waste time arguing w/them. You tube has been notified! *IGNORE* and stick to the VIDEO HERE is advised.
Many of these ladies are not attacking, they are defending themselves. As I teach, there are male victims and I treat them as fairly as the women. I have arrested true women aggressors in my time but the numbers don't lie...abusers will though.
Figures don't lie but liars figure. You are quoting reported statistics, ignoring the fact that men are a lot less likely to report abuse by female partners than vice versa.
I will not get into a pissing contest with you but your statistics are not very accurate. Federal statistics show that men are the predominant aggressors in 75% of reported cases. There is such a thing called self defense as well.
DV is bad but like most other DV/abuse videos this shows female victims and ignores the fact that women are as violent if not more so then men towards their partners and children. All victims deserve to have their side shown.
I think we can all use this reminder. Regardless of cause or circumstance, domestic violence is wrong. Understanding cause or circumstance excuses no one. This issue may never go away, but we CAN raise awareness. Thanks, Knightengale.
beautiful film, song, and choice of images to portray the message you intended to send. At first I thought she sounded like Tori Amos (which is a compliment). Thanks for sharing this, friend, because it is a wonderful message in a great medium.
Thanks Laura, Mulu is a favorite of mine. I only know of the one album, but the whole CD is great. I love Tori too!! thanks for watching, glad you liked how it turned out.
Men don't hold the patent. And abuse, while in many cases is exacerbated by financial stress, is by no means limited to those one paycheck away from the street. Abuse in most of its forms is about control and power, whether it's a husband beating the crap out of his wife, or a mother beating the crap out of her kid, or all its other variations...
Wow...I can't think of anything other to say than that. I know that this is coming from a very tender spot for you (((hugs))) thank you for sharing it. I can only imagine.
Thanks VK, I kept seeing your reminder on my bully-board to get it done- (a month late, but oh well.) Well I finaly had time- a shortish song, and a google image search and an afternoon, and this was the result. Thanks for helping to bring the message closer to those who need to know about the growing problems with abuse.
Anger is the natural reaction for humans who feel they are losing control. Domestic violence is horrible but don't expect it to end as long as millions of families are one paycheck away from homelessness. You presented a rather one sided view of the issue. If you think men hold the patent on sexual harrassment and abuse contact me privately and I will share some stories.
As a women who has gone thru domestic violence, & sexual violence- I will present my view of domestic violence the way I want to. You are right that violence goes both ways- am not going to debate any thing about statistics as they vary and are constantly changing, and much of the time it is under or not reported, and therefore continues- by man or women. thanks for your opinion on domestic violence.

It's not "domestic" violence. It's straight out violence to create and maintain control.
Plus, it's not just men against women. Women visit violence against men. A lot of the violence women use is more of the emotional kind.

jbgood3 posted some DV research. Do you have anything at all to say about that research, or will you just continue the ad hom attacks?

It doesn't make what happens any less horrific. Each person should take responsiblity for their own action. Excuses.
