I believe I may ahve had the same problem as you are describing. If it is the same thing, then go to your parallels configuration, and select "Video." If you have parallels 3.0 then click "Enable Directx" and if you have parallels 4.0 then click "Enable 3D something, something."

I program and get my work done on OS X, and (thanks to Parallels and Boot Camp) fire up XP to play some Half-Life 2 or Quake 4.
OS X is superior because it uses a Unix core instead of interlinked DLLs and a bloated registry.
The only real debate is price and customization, both of which are weak points for Apple machines.

I'm pretty sure Portal/HL2 runs on DirectX, which works 100% on my mac under Parallels.

If you will have to use Windows, then why you buy a mac. I'm a fan of mac, but lately what I see it's just that people need to install windows on their mac, so why don't you just got a great PC with all that money you would spend on a mac.

Non-Mac PC's are superior for gaming because of the higher upgrade / GPU potential, and the fact that games are almost all written for a Windows platform.
I program and get my work done on OS X, and (thanks to Parallels and Boot Camp) fire up XP to play some Half-Life 2 or Quake 4.
OS X is superior because it uses a Unix core instead of interlinked DLLs and a bloated registry.
The only real debate is price and customization, both of which are weak points for Apple machines.

it's jittery for two reasons:
1. hes emulating the OS it's running on (not sure why, since Im pretty sure Q4 is available for mac)
2. he's recording his screen. that takes up a lot of resources as well.
