As hard as I try, I just can't get with the newer songs. (Pretty much anything post 7th Son). As good as this sounds and as well as it's performed, it just doesn't hold up to the classic stuff.

There's something about 3 guitars that I don't like. You can't really hear any one, for sure. One of them really should go on hiatus for the good of the band. As an old timer, I'd say Adrian should stay. I know people will hate this post but there is truth to it. You know it.

@Explorer766 So then you dislike the studiorecordings of the band, they always have 4-5 guitars on them. And without Janick there would be no songs like "Dance of Death, The Legacy, The Talisman, Ghost of the Navigator and Out of the Silent Planet". In my opininon, the best decision Steve Harris has ever made is to ask Adrian to return and have 3 guitarists.

@patriik0 There's a difference between precision multiple tracking of guitars in the studio and three distinct players all wailing away live. Having 3 guitar players in a band is a rarity fora reason. The songs you quote are all from a period long after I stopped listening to Maiden's new releases. I'm Harris'd out in regards to songwriting long ago. Dickenson did some amazing stuff with Roy Z and Adrian. It's hard to go back to Maiden at this point and listen to Harris's 10 minute retreads.

@Explorer766 I'm just gonna throw this out there, maybe it's a good thing that you can't "hear any one, for sure" when it comes to guitars...I think the beauty of this lineup is the fact that they all blend so seamlessly. I'm old school too, but I can appreciate what they have done here. I think it works for them

Adrian is a master guitarist and his solos are stratospheric, while Dave is the second vocalist, I'm not too sure about Janick as I stopped following the band's progress when Adrian left.

Great music, as ever from Maiden. But I think the most astonishing thing to witness here is that after all these years they all still really and thoroughly enjoy playing together and making music.

Fuck i love this performance! I love the fact that Maiden didn't go with an easy option and play something like Run To The Hills and The Number Of The Beast, it sends a strong message playing a classic epic from 82 and an equally awesome song from 2006, showing how relevant and kick arse Maiden still are! Apart from the sound guy screwing Bruce’s mix in BTATS, this is 'kin fantastic!
