Well, I agree with you: However, you can't change the system unless an informed citizenry has access to important information such as they put out. In order to show just what elements of the system are corrupt, leaks such as those are excellent tools, which could be used to prosecute and investigate parties involved. The Natives were not all one racial group, either. Many had immigrated and settled, just like the many other colonists before Europeans even came here.
By the time natives started being treated in the deplorably way they did, America had already established a Central bank friendly to European interests, and the take over of the constitutional republic had already begun to take footing.

Well, I agree with you: However, you can't change the system unless an informed citizenry has access to important information such as they put out. In order to show just what elements of the system are corrupt, leaks such as those are excellent tools, which could be used to prosecute and investigate parties involved. By the way: I don't really agree with the socialist way of thinking, as I think that freedom is the only way to acheive a healthy society (all dictatorships are morally bankrupt).

The idea is to provide a protected place from which to propagate revealed secrets with impunity.
Their goal seems to be to cause selective embarassment.

No, actually I see efforts to uncover corruption as definitely good.
But, when that effort is used to promote an ideology that itself is corrupt, then that is bad.
Look at the history of fascism in Europe during the 1920s. It was all well-intended and based on populism. Indeed, Hitler and Mussolini were both ver popular.
But, clearly their ideas were neither reasonable nor sustainable.
Same with the Communists nearby. It all ended badly, but in the name of "justice" it lived for years.

It's the little things. Somewhere in the video, one of the participants lamented how the US could not even get a health care bill passed. I won't watch it again to get a precise quote, but my sense was that he assumed universal, government-provided health care was some obviously good thing.
I think one would have to be naive or overtly socialist to imagine giving a government control over your body is some sort of benefit to you.
Perhaps other comments are similar, but this impression sticks.

That is the eternal reality. Tyrants always used well meaning programs to later wreak havoc.
Whatever you give your government the control to do, even if your current leaders are great, someone down the line will turn it against the population. This always happens, always has, and always will... it's what power does.
Give the government power to regulate finances, it will eventually be used for the little guy to prop up the big guy who pays off the politicians, even in a socialist society.

You either have centralized control (socialism, fascism, communism, monarchy) or you have decentralized free market systems (republic, anarchy, democracy).
The free market is essentially the original American system (not the current one).

Our nation was founded on principles set out in our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
This created a huge conflict with the existing practice of slavery. Eventually, this became intolerable and we ended slavery.
Personally, I think this is a huge accomplishment for us. That we identified an evil practice-- one created and tolerated happily in the rest of the world-- and eliminated it, is to our great credit.

The authors tried to ban slavery right out of the gate, actually. People seem to forget that the United States didn't colonize North America, Europeans did. The United States was a rebellion to the tyranny of traditional European social structures and society.
They also fail to realize that even early on, there were traitors to the concept of American Individual Liberty as dictated by the constitution, as can be found in the writings of Thoman Jefferson in great supply.

This guy is absolutely right. Thomas Jefferson attempted to abolish slavery in the original draft of the constitution, but was forced to take it out by others who were slightly more European in thinking. One of the articles of the Declaration of Independance lists the King of England's support of the slave trade as one of the reasons for the revolution. It took around 100 years to eradicate what the Europeans had established in colonial times (slavery).

Actually, the European colonies that existed before the US were built with the help of slavery, and the peaceful treaties that the Americans had with the natives were destroyed when the British stirred up tensions, by paying certain tribes to slaughter whole settlements. The Natives were not all one racial group, either. Many had immigrated and settled, just like the many other colonists before Europeans even came here.

I'll give you just one and there are many. The 509th bombing group in the US air force, the only certified to fly with nuclear bombs at the time, it was them who did nagasaki and hiroshima, that base issued a press release to the entire world that they had recovered a crashed flying saucer. they then wanted us to believe that it was just a misunderstanding and that it was a weather balloon. the official story has changed at least 3 times, one said it happened 10 years later. see my vid, think

I am starting to get annoyed. They've had their fundraising page up for quite awhile, and they keep pushing back the reopening. I'm annoyed with them, and with all the people who read and don't donate. They do need money to operate, people. Pony up!

Brilliant! I wish I had as much moral courage. Everyone I talked to about this is delighted about this idea. It's not only a business model for Iceland but it is a much welcome move to counter the gradual dissappearance of freedom of speech in Europe.
