  • wot type of moss is that??(decoration moss)

  • If u cut a big root do u have to seal the wound

  • Do bonsia pots have holes on the bottom for drainage? =)

  • @phased3 yup, they have to!

  • What the heck! that is not a bonsai! it is a tortured plant!, I can't believe that even the art of bonsay has been taken to the "EASY WAY" that Americans are so use to export to the worl, without any idea about what is the real value of things.

  • *Nice vid*

  • Cool idea. I like that you made the point of giving trees to others that will take care of them.

  • What moss is that green kind that you put on around the 8:15 minute mark? Thanks

  • only sphagnum moss in ficus pot = root rot (no doubt)

  • suskky- u can use any material that drains well and has some nutrition u can get the nutrition part from any soil and then mix with pummice stone or bark chips- anything to help water flow through the soil. u can also find sphagnum moss online- its very light so should be cheap shipping. but the sphagnom doesnt really make it easier-maybe cleaner, not as messy but thats it.

  • I just ordered sphagnum moss on the internet. And many other mediums will work. Keep experimenting!

  • Please can you tell me what you would use if you could not fine the moss---here in Italy it is very hard to find. Ty

  • precioso

  • A ficus is one of the few trees that can handle this amount of stress on the roots.

  • Have a Great New Year!

  • is that an actual bonsai or is it the same plant in a smaller pot??

will it become more like a bonsai in time?

  • Thank you Jerry. I've learned so much from you about Bonsai. Great Video. I'll share it with my subscribers and friends. Caramia

  • 2 things, I think the reason there was a trunk the whole way down was that it is an airlayering. Plus I have just recently made a bonsai for my uncle for christmas. When I was getting rid of old soil I found a really cool anchor root. It was a little leaf ficus and when I was done I tied a bow around the trunk, it looks really cool.
