so what if he can't repair the roof ... he gets his videos viewed and homeowners will hire him ... besides - it's not like that patch will fail right away ...

poor homeowner called the wrong guy in. Firstly measure off the walls before you go on the roof to save yourself some time. Next this roof looks like it has only the base sheet and no cap sheet you need to tell the home owner that!! Mr.roofer... you need to prime the surface to get a good bond and don't leave those strands of mesh exposed as they will wick water! make a smaller patch and use aluminum paint on the repair better yet take a course or something!

Wow where did u learn to do roofing?! Total overkill . If you had a clue you could do the repair properly without that huge mess and be confident it would not leak unbelievable that people pay you seriously

I understand you didn't want to load a propane botle and a torch to patch the roof with Modified, but wy make that big deal on two tiny holes.

What you did will work, however, you would have been better off just "3 coursing" a small patch on each hole rather than making a massive patch.
The patch you made, being so large, is now going to be stronger than the surrounding roof and will expand and contract at a different rate which will cause a tearing of the roof membrane around your large patch.
You made more work for yourself and weren't kind to your client by creating another problem for them next year...
