Taxation and Regulation still leave enough of a market gap for a black market to exist. They need to legalize it, period. No taxation, no government regulation.
according to the law SALE of marijuana is illegal, I aggree. But as a MMJ patient I am not BUYING medicine, I am DONATING to a collective or CO-OP which in return gives me a gift, in this case flowers. I am serious, the bud of a plant is the flower.
you cant tax a flower or a weed or a donation.
they better watch their asses because of the legality of this one. if the state can tax a donation get READYfor the lawsuits. Wat about political donations then?
yes but those are "sales" of real flowers for decoration. it is not medicine which a patient "donates" to a collective to receive the gift of releif. 2 very different things legally.
Not really. Otherwise, the black market for cigarrettes and liquer would be worth caring about.
Everything needs regulation as its easy to sell fake marijuana to make money, and we want that caught before its sold, not after, so you keep eyes on it.
Taxation is just like every other single item in the world.
I disagree walter. Nothing needs regulation, this is why the economy is in this mess. We have over 75 thousand pages of regulation and the Market could do a better job without government interference. If your looking to stop fake marijuana let courts prosecute for fraud.
They don't take your lighters at the airport anymore. This is because the disposal cost was hurting there budget. It was never about public safety. Just like making marijuana illegal was never about public safety. This is still bullshit. What if you cant tax it? Would it be anymore harmful or less harmful? Its just another power grab to still from the people while making the IRS more money, more money, more money. They will get raided by the IRS now, instead of the DEA? Now that's change!
Its only 28 states that are even legal or considering it.
This loosening of fed pressure will likely help to bring legalisation in more places, but it will take longer then 1 year for more states to follow suit
If it happens at all in this next decade its very much likely to happen before the end of Obamas second term if he has one
But if the repubs get back in power before america has had at least a year of legalisation, it will be delayed a long while
no their not only just a hypocrit but its goes much deeper. they have been brain washed through countless sources I can think of, so they actually think a drug which has NEVER KILLED ANYONE IN ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY is actually a bad thing.
you know this sends alerts to my brain saying if it sounds too good to be true, it most likly is. i like to see this is a route of action to curtail of armed forces but what and where will they go and do. if crime goes down do you think theyll layoff police??? i dont think so. cool it was 4 20 long lol
Sends the wrong message? Fuck that! The GOVERNMENT sends the wrong message by waging war on these substances and claiming their efforts actually work. They send the wrong message by making people feel guilty just for using substances. This is not murder, rape or any of that other crap. It's simply using certain substances. Substances are AMORAL. Morality depends on how you use them.
Co-anchoring on the same story?? Why did that woman introduce it, and then he picked up? Why couldn't Shuster have done the whole story himself? Weirdass msnbc.

thank goodness. why waste our time and money regulating a harmless drug. there are plenty of prescription drugs that do much more harm than pot.

Why would they need top lay off policemen, many cities, especially the bigger ones complain of being understaffed.
If they could stop having to fight some crimes, such as this legal mariuana issue, they will be very happy as they have so much more to focus on.
Besides, if the police have nothing to do all day, they still have to be there to deal with many social needs.
Calls to 911 wont go down, murder and theft will still happen, police do escort duty, etc...
waltermh111 2 years ago
Though, honestly, cities and fed gov lay off police all the time.
Depends on budgets, and if they do find they have too many police laying around, they will lay them off.
I dont know why its so hard to believe that it happens.

I am completely Anti-drug, but I agree 100% that prohibition is a failure and it must be accepted as such.
Legalization of illicit drugs can be controlled the same way cigarettes and alcohol are controlled.
Instead of losing money on the drug war, Government could be intelligent and turn it into a profit the way the drug cartels do.
The question on everyone's mind though is, "Is this ethical?"
Best response, Government is never ethical.
