  • Very atmospheric excellent

  • Thanks, your comment has reminded me of that bitterly cold day...brrrr

  • Faultless as always Austin, you have to be there to fully appreciate how difficult it is to film in such inclement weather....excellent production from the Master...5* Bob

  • Thanks Bob, not really faultless though, the last shot should really have been left on the cutting room floor. It was a dreadful day.

  • Nice one and I didn't notice anything wrong at all! Just glad I wasn't there shivering with cold, but can thankfully watch your beautiful videos, instead!

  • Thanks, I don't think it's one of my best efforts but another record of the day to go with other folks vids.

  • I'm sure you have done better before, but not in that weather! Very well indeed to have made it, and recorded it - the record speaks for itself.

    Alan

  • Great stuff Austin in what can only be described as awful conditions as we both know haha...

Loved the shot at Greenholme, kind of wished i'd attempted either there or Scout Green instead of Shap Wells, never mind... Next time :|

    Si

  • Cheers Si, yes, your day from hell!! Have you got a new camera yet or has the old one recovered.

  • Haha, I've tried since I've got back and it does seem to work as normal, but i've just bought a new car today so hopefully i'm going to try pop along to the worth valley at the weekend and give it a little try. If this dam snow clears... Erghh haha.

  • Many thanks, rather annoying to find the following day was cold with lovely sunshine!!

  • Thanks Adrian, excellent to see someone braving the elements to record Frank's last run. 5 stars all the way!

  • Thanks very much, Franks experience will be much missed on the mainline...Austin (or Adrian...who cares!!)

  • @acw71000 Sorry Austin, my bad! Must be still suffering the NYE effects...

  • Fantastic scenes of the Black 5s at their best, and of the scenery too. Well filmed and well worth standing around in the cold for. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks a lot, It was well worth standing in the cold, video doesn't really bring out the full sound the two locos made at the time.

  • brilliant work

    Dave

  • Thank you Steve, I have to admit to being sorry the train wasn't a day later as we have great sunshine and blue skies today!!

  • Great scenes there, many thanks for sharing.

  • Cracking shots on a rather cold and blustery day Austin. I was stood to your left at Greenholme without realising it was you -- too busy trying to keep warm! All the best for 2010. Mike

  • Thanks Mike, probably the coldest I have known up there yesterday...great fun!

  • You certainly captured "Winter" conditions! 5* Great compilation - Happy New Year - Mike

  • Thanks Mike, perishing cold day but I'm glad I went out. Happy New Year to you too.

  • Great shots and wonderful sounds from the Black Fives running at speed.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • Thank you, it actually sounded louder at the time but the mic. didn't cope too well with the crosswinds.
