If you have EXTREME statements on your tongue (like: I hate Muslims, I hate that, I hate ...) and you approach aviation with a wanna be request - You'll get the lights turn off! As a pilot you need to have an open mind and a high level of tolerance (which is painful, I know that) otherwise stay in your trailer and shoot some beer cans ...
I always wanted to be a pilot, but because of the discrimination against Muslims, I realize how that would not be possible. Now, I am in Medicine School, while I am happy and want to be a doctor, I always feel upset when I see an airplane taking off, hoping one day I can become a pilot as well.
....There's a huge dragon eating chunks of the moon! Back in the 70's and 80's people used to charter fast airplanes like the Convair 880 that could cruse at mach .88 and dash right near .9 to chase the moon's shadow during total solar eclipses. I was down in Mazatlan Mexico for an eclipse in 1991 and watched as the moon's shadows raced across the sides of thunderstorms out at sea. As I watched this, I thought, so that's what Mach 3 looks like. The effect was stunning.
You have the greatest job in the world, I'm only 16 but I know that when I get a job I want to be able to fly A LOT. Just as a passenger, but I love flying, all those comments you replied to were super inspiring, this video was super inspiring, thank you! :)
your world looks a whole lot better than mine when im driving my 44 ton merc actros swop seats any day .thanks for letting us see your world looks better at 38'000ft
Flight has never ceased to amaze me, and up until a few weeks ago, I had to imagine what it was really like to pilot a plane...Now I've started flight training, and loving every moment of it. Many people are terrified of airplanes and flight... I find the sky to be a comforting place, a place where nothing on the ground concerns me at all, and where the sights are what some can only imagine...
@Quake120 Congratulations! You've discovered the real secret of learning to fly. Discovering how 'small' the problems on the ground really are when you're flying at 3,000 feet above it all.
@kingcarcas1349 You can do it for as cheap as around $7000, but more typically it is $11k - $15k or so. Check your local airport for a flight training program. Go on a discovery flight, but be careful because it is VERY addicting!
wow! this reminds me of when I saw a eclipse from a plane when I was about 6 on my way to see my grandparents, it looked amazing! this brings that moment back to me! love it!
No matter how hectic things are getting on the ground, when the wheels leave the runway, it's all behind me. All that matters is being in my airplane in the sky, and it's one of those amazing feelings that is impossible to describe, and that this video evokes.
@SkyWayMan90 well said. I'm not a pilot and I am quite thankful for these videos being posted. Sharing what you guys get to see is a real treat for us civilians. Thanks again for the uploads.
its really wonderful to have those of a routine, everyday's a different thing to see,and i i were to see a sunset from tt height,i would cost me,but they pay you to fly,be happy abt it.word. any sunsets by chance?
You know, I've had a bunch of comments, but I've never read a more inspiring one than that. Thanks.
After a while, this job can sometimes be considered routine. Once that starts to happen, I just tell myself to SNAP OUT OF IT and enjoy the ride. But your comment is another way for us to snap out of it and enjoy the view.
@fly4fun I wouldn't even consider flying a job. Its more of a hobby. Its a hobby that I wouldn't mind having one day. I wouldn't even mind waking up at 4:30am to go fly.
I think that pilots are special people. I never imagined that you can hide from the sun into the clouds or sail at the top of the clouds as a ship on the water. I never got wrong. I'm right. Pilots are special people. They have a special relation with the ~sky~
nice video, it must be a great job to be able to fly, hopefully in 6 years I can start flying with the regionals and then eventully work my way up to the big planes.
this wasn't a lunar eclipse from the pit...it was a photo montage hat could've been created without leaving the keyboard...lame
