The theme and the real footage of the Mosquitos is fantastic. Sadly, the rest of it is rubbish when you look at a film like the Dambusters where, not only was the film brilliant, it was a true story.
I saw this movie as a kid and liked it a lot. When I was fifteen I saw the book and bought it and read it. Then I realized what a horrible travesty this movie was, especially the attack scene shown here. Except for a few minor additions the book did it so much better. It would be nice to see this movie remade the right way.
This was one of the more tragic scenes of the movie other than all of the squadron members were killed as well during their aerial attack on the target.
The fjord run inspired George Lucas X-Wing Fighters' trench run on the Death Star in Star Wars IV : A New Hope.
