  • I played linebacker and Rb in jr high and I didn't get tired, but in high school I played Corner and I couldn't play both ways because it was tiring. TOO MANY TRANSITIONS AND FOOTWORK.

  • I Am A Line Backer, I have to Play This position In a couple Of Hours due to an Injured Teammate... I'm Screwed

  • Corners have to run the receiver's routes backwards, we have harder conditioning,Jam like an O-Lineman,and have to be faster than most offensive players

  • @akshayxbx Lol nigga i bench 350 and 40 is 4.52 and my pro gility is 4.0 flat cuz come on im 6ft 220 play OLB/SS for texas state d-1 in the wac conference even be happy im replyin to this u see it took me over a yr lol but cb is not the hardest position stop sayin that shit. We give u lil niggas your props, btu come on half you corners r a sorry excuse for corner when i know pleny of LB'S including myself in todays spread game that re bigger, faster, and stronger smfh corner yea right GET BIG

  • @superbuu122 have you ever covered a dude that has a whole foot on you no us corners do before you try to say something about us corners you should play our position. i played linebacker and come to find that corner is much harder.

  • t-loc nation

  • Being somebody who has played WR and CB I can honestly say tht CB is harder than WR. 1st off the WR knows the play b4 it starts and knows where he needs to be which the CB does not.Every play for a CB is almost a guessing game. On top of this WR's are running forward each and every play while CB have 2 be fast in their back peddle as well as when running forward. Theres so much more transitioning that CB's have 2 do because they have 2 play the WR even when playing zone coverage. D>O period

  • QB, hardest position. WR, 2nd hardest position.

  • @shinsonic12 Wr is eazy as fuck, catch the ball and run! corner u gotta hit balls, make picks, make takles on recivers and on running backs

  • @Relentles4lyfe Its way more technical than that.

  • @Relentles4lyfe Its way more technical than that.

  • @shinsonic12 you r dumb WR is just natural talent

  • @youngstunnaification Im not dumb, just speaking the truth. Being a good WR takes more than talent. Its about having good timing , percise route running, and being where your Qb needs you to be. You probaly a defensive player but you must not want to understand how technical you have to be when playing WR at the higher levels of football.

  • @shinsonic12 WR doesnt have as nearly as much responsibility as a corner. recievers can slack some plays . At corner if you mess up for one play, it shows plenty of ways

  • @shinsonic12 yea i feel you im not saying that just anyone can play WR, but more pressure is put on corners and the job at hand is just harder. The WR knows what is gonna happen in the play and the DB has to react. I know both r hard to play at the D1 or D1-AA level but i just think in these levels more is expected from me than the recievers

  • @youngstunnaification I've played corner at every level except pro and it is hard but you know what Linebacker is probably the hardest mental position out there because they have every responsibility on the field and they can get beat in so many ways unlike a corner just by a reciever but corner is a very challenging position. I love it though but i love playing safety more.

  • Thank you marcus best tutorial ever.

  • Corner is the best position in football.

  • dat dead corner is easy

  • That's not a WR, that's a TE :P

  • ya cb is one of the hardest positions, but also one of the funnest i played it my rookie year

  • @fantasticstuff100 where u play at?

  • hey i was just woundering if 5'10, 165lbs is a decent size for highschool cornerback

  • @savone99 yea, it all depends on your hips at corner in high school. If your even 5'4'' at the varsity level, it doesnt matter if you can move your hips and mirror an offensive player with athleticism. You have good height, so no worries/ just fill out (weight) and listen to your coaches.

  • yeah if you're fast and athletic. you might want to gain a few pounds of muscle

  • @savone99 ya it is, size dont matter at corner (work on ya footwork n quickness boy)

  • The reason I know half of you people don't play cornerback is because no one mentioned that you need to switch your stance depending on the WR. If a WR is faster or stronger than you, you generally want to play 5-7 yards off. If a WR is slower than you or just doesn't start off fast, that's when you play bump coverage. And by the way, in my opinion the post/slant is the hardest passing route to cover because you never know when they're going to break. Take this info from a REAL CORNERBACK (me).

  • The slant is easy my man, one hint is if the receiver is lined up ON or outside of the numbers most likely he is going inside. If you are playing off, turn your body slightly towards the QB and load your back foot, take your read steps and come down hill. You want to really focus on the QB and the WR out of you peripheral to see when his hips settle and lean. Your break should be simultaneous with the QB release and WR hip drop. It will guide you to the play.

  • Also, the slant is going to be coming out fast on the short side because the quarterback has a small window to throw in before the receiver drifts into LB territory. The time in which the quarterback has to throw the slant depends on if he's throwing the slant on the wide side or short side of the field. If he is throwing the slant on the short side it will come out quick, but if the slant route is being done on the wide side the quarterback has more time to allow for the receiver to separate.

  • @LastCalltoBoogie that is actually really true with where the wr lines up. but its just my team uses me like darelle revis and puts me 1 on 1 a lot so i don't have much help from the olb on my side when there is a slant. thats why i play release a lot cuz im the only one covering and if i get beat, they score. so slants/posts are generally pretty hard but if they do catch the slant they only get around 2 yards so its not too bad. i've been playing cb since i was 6 btw .

  • @2d181 So you are in cove 0 a lot. I can understand your predicament, but still use your hints like WR alignment, short side, wide side, short field, and long field to get an idea of the play. As a CB i know you have to react to the situation, but use your keys for awareness of what could happen. Practice your technique so that it becomes second nature, and then use your reads to allow yourself to make plays, and always maintain your confidence.

  • @LastCalltoBoogie yeah , i practice a lot. but as a cb, you have too. no one can just come in and play cb like you can with runningback or wr. i can back peddle faster than a few players running forward on my team haha. but i love cb and im only in 8th grade but i see myself at hs level and i think i have enough potential too make it to the pros.. just gotta keep me hopes up i guess (:

  • Keep it up man you have a good understanding of the game already it seems, and you are still developing. Don't be so worried about weight training at your age if you are, just practice technique, technique, and technique - off coverage and press. Maintain your flexibility, and get involved with track, soccer, baseball, boxing and basketball would help out a lot. Focus on being an all around athlete and it will help out greatly at the corner position.

  • @LastCalltoBoogie thanks man, i will

  • there is no hardest position to play in the game, i wish yo uall would stop with that. Its all relative to whos playiong the position. In secondary, yeah corner is hardest, in Lb, dL, Ol, Qb, etc, no it isnt the hardest to play. If u say that, then LB is, cuz i am MLB, yet I cover reicevers and jam as well like a corner, yet ican go with TE and shed blocks, and blitz. SO, then LB would be the hardest. ESP todays LBS vs spread offense

  • @superbuu122 i doubt it have you ever played corner in state championship level? god damn.

What makes it hard isnt that you cant cover even if you lose concentration for a second in zone or man youre toast and you got a red hot coach looking right at ya.

  • quarterback is the only position harder than corner... shut the fuk up bcuz u dont play cb nd i do . i wuld kno, it took me 7 years to get really gudd at cb. lots of practice too, no one can jst come in nd play cb like u can with wr or rb

  • @2d181 i dont play CB? i been playing CB since age 7 my Dad was a CB my Grandpa was A CB it its in my blood man.

  • @AkshaySBX did i specifically say you? no. shut the fuck up, idiot

  • @superbuu122 if you took a corner and put him at LB he will be alright (if he is a hitter), if you put a LB at corner he will be burnt to a crisp ( just sayin)

  • He's a beast, but needs to be traded lol

  • You have to be in great shape to play cornerback.

  • i needed that even you know i play backyard football all i need to do is hit and intercept

  • corner is the hardest position in football

  • @youngstunnaification true dat.....

  • @youngstunnaification Mentally you have to be strong but not the hardest position in football

  • @jimmyftbl19 you prolly havent played corner.. yes its the hardest mentally and the receiver has an unfair advantage. what do you think the hardest is? Only comparison is if you say QB but still be a tough argument

  • @youngstunnaification nawwww man it's hard but the hammer position is said to be the hardest :P

  • @youngstunnaification Yes i play for a JC college (soon d2-d1) and its hard as hell to play coner you dont just have to be good and fast and strong and have a great backpedel but you must think alot as well. which sounds easy but when you can 0.01 secs to decited things what route he is running, where he is going, ect. Its very hard because if you choose wrong your benched for the game and maby for more then just that. everyone is watching you as well, so you cant blame anything but you.

  • @youngstunnaification

    u got that right

  • @youngstunnaification Left Tackle is far more difficult.

  • Unlike AI, you gotta practice, practice, and practice some more. CB is THE toughest position to play physically in the game, and all that Marcus said is true, but you can only excel by practicing until you are exhausted. Stay low, stay on your toes, don't ever cross your feet and keep those feet moving. Technique and physical fitness are what is needed to be a good cb.....

  • @ripperduck its the same exact thing in every sport.

  • take a look at harris31 training on youtube

  • There so many complex ways for jamming. It isnt as simple as some think. This is my first year playing football, im 17in college, but i start Strong safety. You can jam from 4yds back, leaving the reciever unexpecting any contact, you can fake jams and make them swim for no reason, wasting time. 1 hand jams leading into 2 hand complete jams, there so many ways to funnel a reciever into your route -jam, press coverage is the way to go for me. requires speed, strenght, and great reaction time.

  • i sometimes jam the reciever, but i mostly play off man. Thanks for this video because i really wanted good tips on how to jam a receiver in a good technique!

  • marcuc trufant gave u great tips for using press coverage, he said its starts off with your stance, u always wanna be low, and u always wanna be comfortable, thats the main part, it starts with stance, and u always wanne be ready to play.

  • i rather coverage dude

  • tru the shit. hawks had a rough year but tru played great. qbs don't even throw his way no more.

  • top 3 cornerback in the league
