  • Natalie's version much better, but ok =P

  • My God, this best version. love it s2

  • Original was similar to Natalie's, but sung by the writer here, Anne Previn...this is a second version, out after Natalie's made it big

  • I always heard this was way different than Natalie Imbruglia's cover. It's really not. Natalie's is more upbeat, but it's pretty much got the same tune and whatnot. I like both of the versions. You usually like the one you heard first, which I heard Natalie's first, so of course, I like it more right now, but Ednaswap's original has something about it that I really like...

  • so this is the ORIGINAL one?

  • @OneCARROTSDirection no, this is the second version by Endaswap released in the album Wacko Magneto, the original one was released in the album "Ednaswap", you can find it on my channel

  • @Zeruhur oh okay, thanks :)

  • who does this song actually belong to?

  • @DhampirChick ednaswap, i think.. natalie just covered it and 1D :D x lmao

  • The tempo is a lot slower than the cover ones. But its still good.

  • i love @ 3:00

  • I thought the name was a play with characters, but nowhere on the internetz does somewhere seem to realize that ednaswap is 'Paws and E' backwards...

  • Both are ok versions, this band got a lot of money in royalties from Imbruglia making this a hit im sure they don't mind.

  • I had the Natalie Imbruglia version stuck in my head...so I listened to this to get it out. Don't know why.

  • I decided to check out Natalie's wikipedia page after listening to "Torn" for the first time in several years, and that's how I discovered that her's was a cover.. and I never knew that before! I was pretty blown away, but this song is pretty awesome.

  • this is the best version! thanks for posting

  • The first recorded version of this song had danish lyrics, sung by Lis Sørensen 1993 according to Wikipedia. Look for the title "Braendt" on Youtube.

  • @SpeedyBallade That's true, but that was also a cover. The song was written by some members of Ednaswap before they started the band.

  • natalie is the best.

  • So much better than the cover. I feel like natalie imbruglia's version just dumbed it down and took away its soul. Love this Hendrix style inrto.

  • Yes.. We all know the fact that this is the Original Version..

But who's version that is the most popular worldwide?

    Isn't it Natalie's Version?

    End of Story. :P

  • @mistakenidentity09 A lot of popular artists don't have the ability to compose their own material, glorifying them for having a hit that was handed to them doesn't speak well for you. How many "popular" songs did Natalie generate on her own again? Where would her career be if it wasn't for this cover tune?

    End of story.

  • @groovebrew

ALRIGHT!! WHOO WHOO WHOO YOU'RE A GENIUS!! WHOOO.. I SALUTE YOU!!

  • @mistakenidentity09 pwnzered

  • @groovebrew AH OKAY! :)

  • @groovebrew Well said. I like this version a lot though... it has a totally different feel than Natalie Imbruglia's cover. It has more emotion in it that you can feel. I like to write lyrics and poetry, and my friends say I'm good at it... but I can't sing at all and I don't have any other musical talent. But I'd love for someone else to bring my words to life... even if it wasn't the life I expected.

  • @mistakenidentity09 slavery used to be very popular too, u know..if u judge value by its popularity, then ur scale is fucked up/...

  • 1:59 90´s heavy alternative rock :D

  • news for me also

  • No idea that Natalie Imbruglia's version was a cover :|

  • so very good

  • by far my favorite song ever.

  • good song, but natalie made it great

  • Much better than all the copy crap

  • i like this original one compared to natalie imbruglia, this song was on their album "Magneto" way back in 1997

  • Wow, just found this song. It's so good! :)

  • This song is the pinnacle of songwriting and is the only arrangement of "Torn" that truly conveys the raw emotion Anne Preven was trying to put across.

  • nice post cheers

  • natalie's is better

  • love the imbruglia version, but this has way too much talent to be ignored like it is now

  • I like the hendrix-like guitar in the first half

  • where can i find this song? or could you send it to me?

  • @Vlatern

Hi there! You can purchase the song at Amazon. I don't know how to send songs, sorry. :(

  • just found out about this being the original version. these guys really deserve more credit than they got

  • Natalie??? Oh who is she I wonder?=) She is nothing without this song, not her song...

  • This version makes you listen to the words. Natalie Imbruglia's cover is for people who just want to dance.

  • @thallassocracy while i agree that this one may force you to listen, i can tell you Natalie Imbruglia's version has always been emotional to listen to me. i have spent many-a-times screaming along to it with full emotion.

  • this version is nice but i love natalie's version..

  • nice one

  • One of my all time favorite songs! Natalie never should have remade it she could never do this song justice! This is the best version, the only version!

  • Nathalie imbrglia's version sounds amazing!!! This is is twice as good!

  • Best version was the one she sang live on the Howard Stern Radio Show back in the mid to late 90's. It was jaw-droppingly awesome.

  • This song is shit.

  • this sounds so much better than Nathalies or Trine Rein's version.

  • sztem tök jo lett ez a verzó is:)

    főleg 2:00-tól

  • natalie imbruglia's version is better than this...

  • @KyserOO7 Maybe is you don't have a soul. ;)

  • @JohnnyStanwyck no, simple cuz i like's natalie imbruglia's voice! bye ;)

  • @KyserOO7 Anne Preven of Ednaswap wrote "Torn" this is the original. While I like both versions (there is also an acoustic version Ednaswap did on The Howard Stern Show) for different reasons, I think Ednaswap's version fit the lyrics better than Ms. Imbruglia's rendition.

  • Better than Natalie's version imo.

  • ok, this is the original i lived many years thinking that Natalie's version was the first but I don't like this one

  • @memokent Actually it's not the original. On their selftitled debut, there's a harder, faster version. This is from their second album "Wacko Magneto." But if you prefer the fluffy, pointless pop version, that's your right.

  • THIS is amazing, I love this version and natalie's :)

  • The music is wonderful - but the album cover is also awesome. Ginger Baker's Airforce used to have album art like this - it's time it came back.

  • Welcome, I just found my album a month ago. I just had to put it up, since there's nothing much on Ednaswap on the internet.

  • Thanks for putting upt he whole album. People should get the chance to hear it.
