@sinsorrow94 King Hippo's fighting style in the NES and Wii are very similar. In the NES, though, you could only get him to drop his guard by punching him in the face when he lifted his hand above his head and opened his mouth. He was basically a character that could be a pain in the ass the first time you fought him, but once you figured out his secret he was super-easy.

Speaking as one of the first nintendo generation, it is fun to see all the refs they threw int ot he original punch out, like Hippo's pants falling down, Mr. Sandman winking depending on which arm he is gonna throw with, and the manager saying "join club nintendo." trip down memory lane.

An easy way to ko fatty is to get a star (to do so after he does the jab where he brings his and to his mouth punch him in the stomach to get a star) keep beating him and wait for him to do his hippo smash, or whatever it is called, duck and star punch him

Mac's "heart" meter. Basically confidence. As you get hit and your enemy blocks your punches, you lose heart. When you run out, you stand there, panting (it's when you turn purple,) and can't punch or block. You can still dodge, though, and after successfully dodging some punches, your meter refills and you can fight again.
