@tpvalley It will only do that when it is 90F out. Regular lead-acid batteries actually have more power to them. One everstart maxx can crank it over really good.
@IDIDieselJohn 4" straight, exits in front of back tire, think you can see it in the vid. It's obnoxiously loud, needs a turbo to chop the sound up or something.
I have a 93 with a 5 speed and mine hits 60 a hell of a lot faster than yours....then again i turned my pump up a little bit and have a straight pipe and i cut the air cleaner and took the bowl out of it for more air flow....i have an 89 as well and i am currently putting a new engine in it
Great vid! Those old IDI's dont die. Not the fastest or most powerful, but they will run to the end of time! Whats up with the tach? Broken huh. Dont think it idles at
Well the guy before me put a new block in due to cavitation so who knows how many miles are on this one. But the trans is an auto and is a pile of crap. I have seen up to 17 once, but that took a lot of work.. But it also leaks a quart of oil a week. I need to take it out and rebuild it and put a manual trans behind it. The rest of the truck is perfect.
Yeah, for a Diesel the best thing is a Standard, like mine. We have a 1987 Ford E350 26ft Motorhome with a 6.9L Automatic and theres a big loss of power with only the C6 3 speed, compared to the 5 speed in my truck. To bad about Caviatation, I'm gonna do a video on that sometime this summer, theres still to much people who don't know about that and keep killing good ol' 6.9 and 7.3's.
Be interesting to see how many comments there are on that movie saying "I never heard about cavitation". I didn't think 6.9's had that problem though.
I saw so many problems with that old Ford but it still starts and drives fine :)
I love my old Ford <3

Yup, that's an ol' IDI for ya. Will tow anything but not very fast. What year is it? I have a 1990 F250 7.3

Mines is a 90 too. Funnest thing in the world to drive but being worn out, it only gets 10-12mpg or so. So I am stuck driving the dodge..

Haha yeah. The 6.9 did kinda have that problem, but took so much more time befor anything would happen. It's more of a 7.3 problem.
