  • Who can find newspapers now-a-days? There are more discarded pots in my neighborhood.

  • @sherlockpup

Really? I got them the first time around....I was afraid I was not going to get it and I have to demonstrate this to a bunch of kids.

  • @pastormikeb68 i'd say being resourceful and growing your own food IS having a life.

  • Great idea ~ I bought potting soil today and they didn't have peat pots but now I don't need them!!

  • A GREAAAAT video! Thanks for your help in helping us cut the cost as our economy goes to "pot"...lol. (had to make that pun...lol)

  • Girls that can get their hands dirty are bad ass. Ty for the video.

  • will magazines work?

  • I make my pots thick and peel them off before planting. Then the paper goes in the worm bin where they think its rotting goodness is candy. Worms are weird. Put the pots in a cardboard box and pack them in tight. By the time they are ready to fall apart they will already have been planted in the garden.

  • good idea and cheap i like it 5stars

    the cheap guy

  • Great vid, probably just saved me 20 bucks.

  • @lirdoss Yes ,but from the time you put the seedling ,to the time you transplant it in the garden ,...you have to water a lot.You didn't think of that !? Duh .!

  • That is a great idea.Where I live the soil drains kind of fast so I would probably leave them in the pots to help hold in some of the moisture when it rains.Especially on new seeds.I planted some peppers directly in the ground and they dried up.Maybe your method will help. The watermelons doing fine.

  • Hi! How can I make turf pots with machines, like in a factory? I want a pot factory.

  • I just cut water bottles in half and poke holes in the bottom, water then and put about 3 in a ziplock bag and I am shocked by how fast the seeds geninate

  • Thanks for the tips! And as some have already said, disregard the other "childish" comments.

  • I'd like to get into your compost pile.

  • when i water em?

  • Cool idea, thanks for this video!

  • Also make sure to use a sturdy jar or glass, not a fragile one that might break in your green thumbs making then themselves in turn recycleable.

  • how fuckin pikey can you be?

and you only need to wrap the seed in damp cotton wool to start it so why go through so much effort?
