  • We need every town in the UK to be radiation having radiation is fun it makes us all die of cancer. yippie. Please Milliband give us more raidation.

  • Well we could go back to coal and gas powered stations and build more of those

Btw has anyone elso noticed Ed Miliband kinda looks like Beaker from the Muppet show?

  • This entire debacle over global warming is nothing more than a ruse to allow more taxation through the new world currency - CARBON.

Remeber we are carbon based life forms. The case for global warming has more holes than a string vest, in fact I would go as far as to say that it is junk science, propagated by dubious computer modesl and in denial of what we are experiencing everyday.

  • Hey, Who normally wins when Ed and Dave have a proper scrap?

  • "popular movement to put pressure on government" ... unfortunately transition towns doesn't know the meaning of placing pressure on government, and are at best a green philosophy movement full of navel gazers and green party tossers. Who couldn't even send a letter to the government let alone apply any pressure. They might do better practicing morris dancing.

  • and what exactly is a 'green philosophy movement'? what are you talking about?

  • ie a bunch of people sitting around discussing systems and time lines instead of getting out and doing something that might get the politicians to start acting in our long term best interest eg educating the general dumb public as to what we face with regard to peak oil etc. And sucking up to local council, who are clearly going 180 degrees in the wrong direction, road building new subdivisions etc.

  • The transition town movement is one that seeks to contain the argument. God forid that they actually get into discussing the truth of what is and has occured in this place since 2001. Only when a popular movement where sufficient numbers of ordinary people stand up and challenge the status quo will we see change.

  • This is because pragmatic people don't sit around writing emails so the governement can come to accomodate them.

They act and organize themselves locally and hope to set an example to whoever wishes to follow.

Actually doing things is the best pressure.

  • That would be fine and dandy IOIOIOIO if we had another 50 - 100 years, but alas time is not on our side and defiantly NOT on the children's side. We are currently about 20 to 50 or so years behind where we should be if we are to 'transcend' to anything that remotely resembles what we have become us to .. such as a future for your children... if the general dumb public aren't bought up to speed like yesterday then I see no hope. And the politicians will play you like the fools you are.

  • I really can't argue with you oilcrash, I've got chickens to feed and a roof to help insulate. Good luck with the whole internet activism thing and cheers for Miliband for not being totally clueless.

  • I hope you are doing something about home security IOio otherwise you are just doing stuff for the person who will kill you for your food etc. As an uninformed or unprepared society has only one way to go post crash and that is violence ... good luck

  • Forget putting pressure on the mind controllers (govern - ment). It is a sham created by the ruling elite who are even as I write, continuing to disposess people and destroy our freedoms.
