If I remember the translated Tony Jaa interview correctly, they had to run that sequence five times to get that clean continuous take that you see above.
Can you imagine being the extra who screwed up the shot forcing another take?!
yeah, the plot is almost laughable, but i think that was on purpose.
They wanted to make a badass kung fu movie. And they succeeded. The plot and acting is poor because they put so much emphasis on the fighting, and not the actual plot and stuff.
If you ever see the movie, watch behind the scenes take on that fight. I remember having a hard time watch it the 3 times. If i remember correctly its shown 13 different times
6 takes....thats why he looks so tired at the end, he did it 6 times in a row. he did it once, had to come back down, and do i 5 more times after they set everything up again. due o items not breaking like they should, this is the longest continuos fight scene (no breaks, jsut one straight shot) in movie history, next to the chuck norris bruce lee fight but i think thats wrong.

Some fights were good but this scene was the worst... really.. you give a guy a fake side kick and he stays down for the whole time... too fake for me. I only liked the temple fight and the fight vs the big bald guy
Rofl, and where is anything that you do that shows anything better?
We're critisizing a fucking movie, you know a fake scripted match of a person winning under unbeatable odds. Much like wrestling. If you cant it it through your fucking head that we're not saying the people are fuckin worthless for trying, we're just saying you make movie seem a tad more realistic may get more attention, oh and the movie theatres may become packed again. /wrists now please
ACTUALLY its funny that you call me a media poof. When your standing up for another movie showing yet again a Wreslemania fighting effect, 1 punch and the guy either goes down or looks SO AFFLICTED that he cant do anything fast enough. Good stunts likke the falls and what not. But when it comes to the actual fighting its just like any other fucking movie. So got anything to backup your claim other than calling names?
how would you know that it takes more than one punch to get knocked down? I wouldnt see you as the type of person that would know that, especially if you got punched by a muai thai boxer. And they dont go down in "just" one punch. he grabs them, elbows them, knees them etc. Its not like any other fighting movie. So go and get punched by a muai thai boxer then come back and say if you got knocked down in one punch. You would find that you have proved yourself wrong in your previous statements.
1 thing. You dont know me, so stop assuming. Another He may be a muai tai Boxer, but how do you know im not a mix between BJJ And a few other things. While hes trying to grab I could just pull a "Reversal" for lack of a better word. For trying to backup a fucking ACTED OUT SCENE (contrary to a real life fight) all your comments are showing how fucking retarded you peeps are being. Oh and i dont see any of that you described really, just 1 to 2 hit KO's. Nice try.
00:52 look at that. Yes someone make sme do a flip and im going to lay there. Fucking please if i really wanted to kick someones ass, that wouldnt stop me. OH and if you pull the whole "IT BROKE HIS ARM AND CRACKED 4 RIBS" Then on top of the shitty combat acting and coreography they have a shitty sound guy too. So if you guys wanna argue about HOW THE FUCKING MOVIE, is just like real life, then maybe you need to take a second to realize its someones opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.
That's because he really was tired. Imagine having to do all those kicks and flips, while remembering all the choreography and running up those damn stairs.
Tony Jaa is epic!

its because they did the entire scene in 1 take, no editing, you can tell because near the top you can tell tona jaa is winded

I wonder how many takes it took the director before he got this scene. There is not a single edit in the entire sequence ! Incredible !
