I remember watching this race and said no way would Personal Ensign get up in time. Glad I was wrong but Winning Colors also proved what a champion she was as well. I am not the biggest D. Wayne Lukas fan but he had WC pegged right her entire career. She beat the boys and just narrowly lost this 1 to another great filly...as a 3 year old. Remarkable also considering everyone knew her running style was on the lead and trainers could suicide a pace to disrupt her with a rabbit.

nobody gives credit to the huge but I mean huge run that Goodbye Halo had on this race, less than a half lenght behind this two great fillies it's a bg time effort. And it added a more dramatic finish.
