@ChuckedahBEAST I installed the exhaust myself. Installation was pretty simple and took about an hour from start to finish.

@ChuckedahBEAST You do. I just jacked the car up and put it on jack stands to allow enough clearance underneath. You could also use ramps or a lift, if available.

fastie, I now have the same setup as you, xpt stage 1 tune with magnaflow cbe.. i love how smooth it is and how the boost kicks in sooner... can totally see the difference from stock to the map on my boost gauge...

have you gone stage 2 yet? Im looking to get a downpipe, but not sure as it may be too loud and not sure if it will fit the magnaflow ..thinking of getting invidia cated dp

@sungminz I did go stage 2. I picked up a used Cobb catted downpipe. The added power made up for the noise difference, which was minimal. If you stay with a catted downpipe you shouldn't find the sound changes too much.

@sungminz Yes, it fit fine and I used the gaskets that came with the downpipe. No fitment issues, just make sure you get the GR specific version since they are slightly longer than the GD downpipes.

FaSTiE: I am also thinking about getting the tantrix cable and going opensource. Was stage 1 fairly simple to install to your car?? Could you hook up the XPT Stage 1 map???? :-) also, doesn't it require a K&N filter, did you get that?

Flashing your ECU is very simple and I'd highly recommend getting rid of your factory STI tune. The Tactrix cable is a great tool to have on-hand. I did have the KN filter.

Yes, I used ecuflash and romraider. The XPT maps are very good for an off the shelf tune.

Haha, the '05 was running a 4" downpipe dumped. The rear muffler was left in place for aesthetics. It did sound quite mean.

In this video, the car has only a catback exhaust. Your car will still sound good with just a catback, it will just sound better once you get a downpipe installed!

Yes, there are no resonators. However, there are still two catalytic converters from the factory that remain.
