good lesson the only thing is what you did was the diminished arpaggion not the diminished scale the skill is similar to the arpaggio but u add your second and third finger so the diminished scale is
@Fernandez3995 It's up to you. For my students I would usually give them a scale one week, see how they did, then assign another if they could play it flawlessly from memory 3x with no pauses in between.
please tell me where i should start learning scales! i really want to learn but i cant find where to start! some one point me in the right direction please! I already know fretboard theory as in notes and where there located and spacing and stuff
@viperabs ive learned at least 20 different scales. i can play them pretty fast and anywhere on the neck... i still havent figured out the purpose of scales
@eLeCtRoFrEaK0036 if you play music thats NOT just power chords, then you need scales. they help with solo's, hand-eye coordination and they can improve your speed, finger strength and your technique. i still need to learn scales as well
@FatherStarr Fortunately with electric guitars, you can adjust your action very easily. Lower your action until it buzzes alot, then raise it back up a hair.
It's good to have knowledge of the scales.. suggestion for next video is to show people where and how to apply them when trying to write a solo either on the fly or putting it down in a recording. Having knowledge of these scales is one thing.. applying them is where the fun part for a musician starts, heh.
@AxisofJustice21 I have videos on how to write solos and such, but this is actually the followup. You'd be surprised how many people don't think scales are important.
@viperabs Haha I wish I could say I was surprised by it.. but it's more than common to find a player that plays all these licks and has technique out the yin yang, but put him in a position where you go on the fly? He's lost.. he has no idea.
@viperabs I use to think scales are point less and retarted... but then after this first year of playing I realized I can't write a whole solo without it cause, I don't know what notes go together. And I think it's great that your teaching people the imprtance of these scales, great job man.
@didntsave I'm not saying you aren't correct, I just used more common terminology. No need to treat me as though I don't know what I made my video about.

That scale is not just called "Pentatonic" it is the Minor Pentatonic.
didntsave 1 year ago
@didntsave Depends on your reference, because most just refer to it as the pentatonic.
viperabs 1 year ago
@viperabs Pentatonic means the scale has 5 tones. the diminished scale has 5 tones, so it is Pentatonic as well.
