The Baloch elders did not sell the Gwadar port to the English rulers, the Khan of Kalat gifted it this port to the Prince of Oman as he came to this land when he left his homeland. What I've read is that Gwadar was part of Oman and Pakistan purchased it directly from Oman. Therefore, it was not part of Kalat state.

Khan of Kalat Naseer Khan Noori refused armed support & agreed financial support, Gwader was given to Sultan Said to build their forces for recapture of Muscat. After control of MCT, he paid tribute to Kalat, mostly Makuran & Lasbela states.
