Support BILL HR 676 -- Don't patronize us and say it's not free, "We pay for it with taxes!." .. Well we drive on city streets for FREE - their construction paid with taxes, they're FREE, - Books at our libraries are FREE, - our Fire Departments, Police Departments etc., are FREE. All FREE services, collectively socialized and paid for with our tax dollars. To argue that Health Care -- a life & death issue for many -- shouldn't be considered in the SAME league is LUDICROUS and ARCHAIC.

Then they can find money to provide medicines, health care, education and feed the poor.... Why is it... The federal gov will create a debt on the tax payer for weapons of war.... But will not create a debt for the betterment and health of the people who they collect the tax from?

K3304, I never did drugs, prostitution or any of those thing. I have worked hard 18/7. Even now I work 7 days week. I got a degree from U.C.L.A. physics top of my class, thanks to government help. And I still got homeless for a while and am still poor and for most of life could not afford health insurance.

I saw two of my friends commit suicide after they could not find a job after graduating from college. I even taught at college, but it was not enough money to live on. I saw the hopless and stupid situation the U.S. govt. put its own people. The U.S. govt is destroying the people as fast as it can. If we had socialized medicine, at least it would be something.

for some extreme health problems, our country is good, IF you are one of the lucky insured ones, and your ins. covers it. BUT 47 million Americans have NO health insurance. How patriotic is it to just let them suffer in the richest country in the history of the world? also, you can't call Mike a Communist for wanting our country to catch up to the 36 countries that rank ahead of us in health care. I'm for national health care, BUT THE CLINTONS' PLAN - KEEPING *ALL* THE PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANIES INVOLVED - WOULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE BUREAUCRATIC *DISASTER* - AND PEOPLE COULD *STILL* HAVE BEEN DENIED PAYMENT FOR INDIVIDUAL INSTANCES!
ONE *GOOD* UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER PUBLIC NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PLAN FOR *ALL* CITIZENS IS THE ONLY WAY TO BEGIN.
And then we use what works best in other universal national health care countries and skip any shortcomings.

A lot of supporters of universal healthcare have rather simple-minded analyses. But I still agree with them. According to an article on wikipedia about "Healthcare", Afghanistan and Iraq have universal healthcare that is funded by the U.S. Very ironic. The federal government pays for the universal coverage for two other countries but not its own.
