Yeah, it is seriously just an ereader not a tab. It has similar application but it is really used for reading. It has little perks, but those are not it's main focus. I am currently using an iPad 2 but I just got a kindle fire and I like it more for what it does.

@2good4utyra Actually, the Ipad 2 does a hell of a lot more than the Kindle Fire, it has better apps, it has a MUCH faster web browser, it can do word processing, etc. If you owned both, you would know. People need to stop comparing this to the Ipad because they are two intentionally different things. To the average non-techie consumer, the kindle fire is an amazing deal in terms of quality for the pricepoint, and your average person will find it great for what they want it for. Considering the Fire is only 199 and people still are comparing it to the Ipad tells me it goes above and beyond what a 199 dollar tablet should. I challenge anyone to find a more capable tablet for this cost.

Motorola, Hewlett Packard, and Samsung havn't outsold the Ipad and neither will this. Count on it. The Kindle Fire has been out for nearly a week and it hasn't even put a small dent in Apple's sales. And trust me, I own both tablets. I like the Kindle because it's small and it's cheap, but there are NO apps, the games absolutely suck, (trust me you'll find out after buying it!) and there are NO cameras or microphones, I love my Ipad 2. Sure it costs more, but you get what you pay for!

The Kindle fire is 100% different because of the integration with Amazons services and back end. For $199.99 the tablet does more then the original Ipad and has way better specs. People need to stop comparing this to the Ipad because they are two intentionally different things. To the average non-techie consumer, the kindle fire is an amazing deal in terms of quality for the pricepoint, and your average person will find it great for what they want it for. Considering the Fire is only 199 and people still are comparing it to the Ipad tells me it goes above and beyond what a 199 dollar tablet should. I challenge anyone to find a more capable tablet for this cost.

Kindle Fire doesn't support proxy servers making it a brick at work. Proxy servers are a common security approach at corporations, colleges, and schools. It cannot be ignored. Amazon's stance that the Fire is an "entertainment" device that has no need for proxy support. This stance ignores several obvious user scenarios:the Silk browser *frequently* fails to load websites like IGN. In all, I returned it after a week.

Motorola, Hewlett Packard, and Samsung havn't outsold the Ipad and neither will this. Count on it. The Kindle Fire has been out for nearly a week and it hasn't even put a small dent in Apple's sales. And trust me, I own both tablets. I like the Kindle because it's small and it's cheap, but there are NO apps, the games absolutely suck, (trust me you'll find out after buying it!) and there are NO cameras or microphones, I love my Ipad 2. Sure it costs more, but you get what you pay for!

The Kindle Fire has no cameras or microphones, plus you cannot even buy apps from the Android marketplace, you must buy them from the Amazon website! Not to mention Android has a small fraction of the apps that are supported by the Ipad. The ONLY advantage of the Kindle is it's price, but as many other tablets from Samsung and Hewlett Packard have come & gone. Apple's Ipad remains the king of the tablet computer!

The Kindle fire is 100% different because of the integration with Amazons services and back end. For $199.99 the tablet does more then the original Ipad and has way better specs.
