  • I'm playing the policeman right at the end of the clip:)

  • @sanmediauk The guy who walked through the door or the one shutting it? Either way, that's very cool! :)

  • @JustCuriousDesigns I'm the one in uniform opening/shutting the door

  • BURN GORMAN! such a hottie :-)

  • Jane Seymour was Great in this.. I like a good Bitchy Role:)

  • I downloaded part 1 of this video Ordeal but it does not show a picture, it only has the audio for some reason.

  • thanks to the person for putting these online i love it

  • grazie per questa serie di miss marple

  • Typical that they presume to improve on AC's genius.

  • I've seen this AC many times just for Richard Armitage; If he is standing and walking in the first episode, are they saying his charachter contracted polio and ended up in the wheelchair between the mother's murder and ' the explorer' retuning too late with 'Jacko's' alibi ? It has been decades since I read the complete works of Dame AC and I forget. Thanks so much for the upload! I'd still have RA wheelchair or not!

  • does anyone know the name of the song that plays at the very beginning of the video?

  • @nashalomblay

I tried to find it some time ago without success. Just tried again and found that the additional music is:

I'll Never Fall in Love Again by Novick/Lenart

    I've updated the info

  • @sauronsdaugther thank you so so much!!! :)

  • @nashalomblay I found Sheradia's website where the song is played in full (automatically as the page has loaded, be patient, please!) At least you can get the lyrics from there. I couldn't attach the address here, but google the first lines of the song.

  • @jennae85 okay, thank you! :)

  • @StrangerToEarth There is not such a thing as czhecoslovakian language, plus you write it czech...good that english is the world's mother -language....

  • Oh my gosh TOM RILEY!!!! Woooo :D

  • W-hoa! Juliet Stevenson, Jane Seymour, AND Richard Armitage! In a Marple! Perfection.

  • I agree with everyone! Thank you so much. Can't have enough british murder mysteries and this was one of the best. More please!

  • I don't remember Bobby from the book, was he added for the film? I understand a lot must have been changed around as it was adapted to a Marple Mystery

  • Ever notice that it's the people with no vids uploaded who comment on your spelling mistakes and vid fact accuracy? Thanks for the upload!

  • @manthasagittarius Yes, I know. It's deliberated. Long story... :-)

  • @StrangerToEarth Well... that's right. What can I say? I guess the fact English being only a second language to me has something to do with it.

  • @sauronsdaugther Well, English may be my first language, but I've got a couple more in which I make PLENTY of mistakes. No worries about it!

  • @RokiaNY Making plenty of mistakes in czhecoslovakian or Inuktitut is one thing - English is the world's mother-language so that's why everyone kicks up a shitstorm at mistakes. It's like, well, if you can't speak the Human Language, you're just barely scraping a C on the Homo Sapiens exam. And your mother is NOT gonna be happy when she sees your report card. And any other scholastic metaphors you can come up with.

  • @StrangerToEarth Hmm, then I'm afraid I must point out that you misspelled Czechoslovakian, as well as the fact that there is no language called Czechoslovakian. There is Czech, and there is Slovak.

  • @RokiaNY See though, I was talking in the English language? Since I don't speak one word in Czech, Slovak or Inuktitut (love that word), have never been to those places nor know one person who has, it doesn't exactly count. Did you know Inuktitut was a language before I snidely googled it to make a point? No. Neither did I. Because it doesn't matter.

  • @StrangerToEarth Geez you're an idiot. Go get an English dictionary and look up the word Czech. It's an English word. The Czech word for the Czech language is Český. And yes, actually, I have heard of Inuktitut before, although I admit I am probably in the minority. But are you seriously asserting that everything in the world that you *don't* know doesn't matter? Because that appears to be rather a lot.

  • @RokiaNY So I've hit upon one of the 0.0004 percentage of the world population who are Linguaphiles (don't light up - it's not a word. Do google the correct one for me however.) Everything in the world I don't know is what keeps my brain machinery working to fill in the gaps. But dim, asinine, idiotic person I AM, I routinely forget to brush up on my spelling of the language and tongue defying words only newscasters use more than once a year.

Love the smooth insertion of the Český though.

  • @StrangerToEarth You're missing the point. You belittle someone else for making a tiny spelling mistake, say she's barely human for doing so, then when you make a mistake yourself get defensive by saying it "doesn't matter" and claim it's because it's something only newscasters or .0004 percent of the population would know. I'm not saying you are "dim" because you misspelled something, I'm just saying you're an self-satisfied ass with more opinions than brains. Clear?

  • @RokiaNY So you had the argument to start with. I have more brains than opinions but probably more awesome than both. And I'm not even a narcissist - or a narrow-minded, post modern little shrew - or the infuriating language police. I don't talk like a Starbucks-consuming, indie scarf-wearing, pop-psychology-spouting, artsy I-take-lessons-for-everything prick in real life. I am not the sex, age or nationality you think. You're not talking to someone who exists.

    That's right. I am a Youtuber.

  • @sauronsdaugther nice :D

  • @StrangerToEarth LOOOOOOOOOL - I quite see your point

  • @StrangerToEarth Hafen't you kot somting betder too doo then juging peeples writing?

    Krow up, please!

Oh my dog! I'm all wrong!!!

  • @BuzzoQueen

I just got a paralyzing suspicion you were trying to be funny. Or worse, witty. Please OH please say Im wrong.

  • @StrangerToEarth You are right It was not funny...I apologize for being a jerk

  • @StrangerToEarth I must come back on my apologie You ARE a jerk by judging other peoples writing!

Try some dutch or some arabic for all I care! Stupid ASSHOLE!! By the way....Languages aren't with a capital you retarded dickhead!! can't wait for your comment arselicking Man United slut!!

  • I don't mind TOO much when a television or movie production takes a few liberties with a book---after all, they usually pay HANDSOMELY for the privilege---but ORDEAL BY INNOCENCE (19580 is NOT a "Miss Marple" novel. Nor did Mrs, Christie intent that it should be. It was, instead, an attempt by the author at a work of socio-psychological fiction. Which meant most people didn't like it because Mrs. Christie was departing from her "formula" and attempting to branch out.

    See the 1985 movie instead

  • @lezwitch I totally agree. Why make a Marple of a non Marple novel ? It seems that the makers of the film have looked to much to the 1985 version anyway. Jany Seymour acts like Faye Dunaway, and both Micki, Kirsten and Jacko are clonings of their 1985 characters. And the music was much better ...

  • OWEN HARPER FTW!

  • how very english "i will kill you " and everyone just sits there til the choking begins !

  • @tumadoireacht haha, I thought the same. Stupid people, what if he had hit her in the head with something heavy, then they wouldn't have heard anything and it would've been to late.

  • Oh my gosh it's got Richard Armitage, Burn Gorman, AND Tom Riley. My brain just exploded.

  • these are special to me as I saw them in europe when i lived there,I loved watching them ,they were always on scandinavain tv for yrs.

  • I'm a fan of Poirot as well, but Marple gets much bigger/better actors... wonder why that is

  • @mermaydlondon Yep. Thanks for watching! :-)

  • wow! so many awesome people in the cast! i stumbled upon this to watch Richard, but I'm blown away already. So excited to watch.

  • A good story , and is that the very successful singing star of the 80s, Lisa Stansfield, playing Mary? "All Around the World", etc.

  • @bipolarbert Yes, she is :-) Thanks for watching

  • Wow I think it's wonderful to someone who isn't greedy with their videos. Thank you so much for uploading and staying true to the original Youtube ways (pre money making adds) you are in a class above the rest.

  • @lwaliz Thanks for watching! :-)

  • I'm i the only one waching this who has no idia who "Richard Armitage" is??

  • @chrislestom Surely not LOL There are many Marple fans that don't know about him. But it's also true that I personally discovered this Marple series because he was acting in this episode LOL

    Thanks for watching!

  • @chrislestom I discovered him in Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South, and never ever forgot him. He was just smoking hot in that. I guess he's just become something of a hot guy of period drama or something :-P

  • @pookoos Have you check him out in Strike Back? He's fantastic in this one (not period drama at all LOL). And he looks GORGEOUS in sun glasses :-D

  • These movies have the coolest theme music. :^)

Absolutely love seeing all my favorite british actors!

    What a scumbag Jacko is.

  • Thank you for uploading!!!!

  • @Blackpoppy26 Thanks for watching! :-)

  • First of all, the handsomest man here is Denis Lawson, you silly people.

And the greatest actor (not so handsome, but jeez, amazing) is Burn Gorman - remember Guppy in Bleak House?

And of course, Geraldine IS Jane.

    OK, back to the show.

  • @danfrankkuhn Agreed about Denis... But, you know, I have a preference for Richard, silly me! LOL

Have not seen Bleak House though. Need to try?

    Thanks for watching :-)

  • @sauronsdaugther

Oh yes, you should watch Bleak House! Bleak, but so deliciously bleak! I borrowed the video from my local public library - twice. No Richard Armitage, but Denis Lawson is also in it.

  • @sauronsdaugther Absolutely you need to, great performance.

    ty for posting this.

  • I LOVE THIS EPISODE. SAD SAD THOUGH!

  • for me Geraldine McEwan is the best miss marple, i totally buy her protraying miss marple, she is too good no body can be miss marple like her!

  • Im with you. Only Geraldine works for me. She has that mischievous twinkle.

  • is that mister guppy?

  • Yup,

  • seriously- everyone is in this episode! i love british television. here in the US you never see this amount of collaboration unless it's for some lame telethon.

  • @nelsonwilby Glad youliked it! Thanks for watching :-)

  • Indeed. And Mr. Jarndyce as well.

  • OMG the quality of this is AMAZING. Made my day!

  • @lookinglass123 Thanks! I've done my best LOL

    :-)

  • Thank you for posting! I'm a big fan of Geraldine McEwan and Richard. I'm still so mad that they replaced McEwan, I thought that she fit the role and character perfectly!

P.S. I remember parts of this and I had hoped that the one couple would have worked out as they were perfect for each other.

  • @ILoveTeaDogs Thanks for watching!

  • Can som1 please tell about the singer and song, at the start of episode 1.

    Thnxs

  • @sobrite2220 Tried to find it... No success. It seems to be a cover of the song especially done for the series. It's no credited, not even on the DVD.

    :-(

  • I am standing here listening to the argument.

    I like it.

  • I recently just watched North and South and became very taken by Richard Armitage, such a great actor and wonderfully handsome as well.

  • Yep. He can play many different roles with great credibility. You always believe in the characters he plays.

  • Thanks so much for uploading this. I've been looking for the full version for quite some time. I have a 'thing' for Richard Armitage:)

  • Just a 'thing'? He, he... I've got a crush on him LOL

  • @sauronsdaugther I admit it- definitely a crush for me too:) sigh...

  • @tully2shoes Don't we all!?
