What's up with the invisible monsters in the caves? The only side scrolling RPG I've played is Tombi, but this seems more like a misstep for the Zelda series, especially seeing as Miyamoto never repeated this style of play again. Seems like a mix between Commander Keen and Final Fantasy where you walk around a world and enter places on the map to go into a sidescrolling perspective, with random battles occuring along the way.

In caves, if you look very closely on the floor, you can make out the creatures walking, as their feet movements can be seen.

No it's not! Don't get me wrong, Zelda is awesome!! This game is an eye soar to the series!! I've given it a generous 6.5. My biggest problem is that they tried to morph it into an RPG and it just didn't work that way. A Link to the Past saved the series!!

Zelda 1, 2, and 3 were the best of all of them. After that, they started worrying about graphics and turning into anime.

I miss A Link to the Past. Best one of them all. Period.

I admit that the anime was a bit much (even though I liked it a lot!), saying that focusing on graphics makes the series worse then you are gladly mistaken... The graphics in the retro Zelda games were awesome and classic. They stand out and symbolize their time, but as time goes on games change. Newer and better graphics replace them and define their time. People can still play their classic games and still have the thrill of knowing there will be something bigger and better to come! :D

Bah, Zelda II's graphics were ahead of its time. The detail used for every monster is such a huge improvement on the first game. Though the game is hard, it's n ot a bad game at all. It's one of my favorites(even though I beyond suck at it)

your version of the story is wrong, you see hundreads of years ago, the original zela knew about the triforce, her brother became jelous and put a spell on zelda, the prince was banished, and every girl born into the famaly was named zelda. now link was to re vive her and evry thing else you said is right
