It's sweet how dude sprints-slalom like to get thru fence. . . Like OJ
I love how the ladder that is just sitting there could be propped under the tower. . . instead, let's just have dude hold it. Stupid bitch filming could at least made herself useful with a locking block and tackle, just like raising a sailboat mast. even a kid could raise that shit up. Then your strongman just reels it in. DURRRRRRRRRR
I think I saw a marble fall out of that guys pants leg,or it was blue like a marble anyway! LOL
Glad no one was hurt, did one of your voices change about midways ? Is the tower up now? The suppositories work better than the cream ! All joking aside, hope you got it and be careful, and shut that dog up its causing you to be distracting and can't give a 100% at pushing.
there should be a rope tied to the other side and someone pulling it from the opposite direction....and that ladder on the ground should have been used as a stand.
Hi, Hi -- Jeez - I had the volume turned up while closely watching the struggle and when the dog barked I jumped - Could the boys not have used the ladder laying against the fence at a prop!, and raise the tower in stages - well that calls for another beer - woof- woof.
I'd suggest someone in a vehicle left of the camera with a good, healthy rope tied near the top of the structure, pulling slowly once the ground crew gets it up around 45 degrees. I'm actually surprised this method did not compromise the structural integrity of the tower. Even erecting it section by section with a gin pole would not be out of the question...
@gabbyhall The problem was, that it was tower top too heavy, and you fellas were fighting a loosing battle from the very begining. If you fellas at the bottom had slipped, and let go that tower, the fella on the roof, with the rope, could have been yanked off and badly hurt, or even killed. Build a tower, section by section till it's finished, that's the safe way of putting up a tower of any size.
I just cemented the first section in the ground and then carried each section to the top and put it on. Bolted it and then added the more sections untill I had it 65 feet in the air. I added the antenna and now enjoy TV. no problems unless you dont like heights. It only hurts if you fall. so dont fall . lol
I had two friends do what you guys were and the tower fell on a 16,000 volt power line. One pal literally burst into flames and the tower melted into two pieces. The other friend would have died except his wife was a paramedic and saved him.
Next time take the tower on the roof and drop it into place.....You just slide the tower down to the ground and have 2 men on the roof and 1 on the ground, I raised a 50 Foot tower using this method and it is safe and it works !
Reminded me of one summer up at North Fort Hood when I was training the National Guard. An RC-292 antenna, which at most should have taken 2 soldiers to raise, took over 10 people. LOL.
HE HE HE we raaised one in our yard about 13 years ago it's still up all in one shot. used ropes and a tree and 2 pivet points .now that is what you should have done lol.
You knuckle heads should have listened to the dog.Its 2012 and I'm still laughing.

Trying to get past that 45 degree angle is the hardest point the should have had a rope on the top and some one pulling on it

you need 2 guys pulling on a rope the other side, of course the proper way is to use a winch. wakes it easier if it needs to be lowerd again.

Had one of my expensive Beams been hanging off the top of that tower when it was dropped, I might have said a bad word or two.

Yep, back in our CB days we put up many nearly twice as big so we thought this small one would be a piece a cake. NOT. ;-)

It's best that you drink a few beers before watching this video...
I did, and i could hear the dog saying "It's not gunna work fella's, it's just not gunna work...."
And then the dog said " I told you so you idiots"
When erecting a comm's tower, always take a dog.
If it starts barking, you know something is wrong !
Why didn't they use a rope and a car ?
I dunno, all seems silly to me.
using a winch on a 4wd always works....with a pulley....
