No. Just no. Regina has a lovely voice. But wavering the notes on this song is just daft. Malvina Reynolds made the tune repetitive for a reason, and that reason melds with her lyrics. If she meant to create commercially appealing artificial attraction she would have wavered her notes and fetishised the tune like Regina does, as opposed to actually singing the fucking song the way it was intended. Covers should introduce new generations to old tunes, not rewrite them.

Regina Spektor sings it with a different but just as good tone; She lends a note of sadness to the song, like she's seeing it from the perspective of someone in the little box.
