The question is how did they get so far south east of "home".... A recent comment by BNSF CEO Matt Rose may answer the question... He said due to imminient tier four emission laws "ealier gen diesels would be replaced during 2011-2012" Lets hope this was due to run through on CSX... and not sale... I suspect that as CSX and BNSF interchang and share diesels on run through this was a interchange of diesels... a superb catch.
I went out that day and brought my 6th, in 10 years, HO scale, santa fe yellowbonnet SD40-2 snoot! and have four short nose yellowboonett Santa fe SD40-2 Im aiming to build a Cahjon pass layout I have a new Athearn RTR (new series) yellowbonnet GP50 coming on Friday! Yes you cant beat a yellowbonnet I examined the short nose Yellwobonnett SD40-2 in this piece of vision and discovered that it is in fact a SD40. mark 1. Check the earlier grill so you found an even rarer combination ...
Brilliant use of sountrack The santa fe yellowbonett is the most attractivd and classy American railroad liveyr and it never lloks btter thna on a SD40-2... Woww in Flirida i thought Santa fe would take over the railroad world... Their so rare you should have permanently 'borrowed them" so they couldnt be repainted...LOL I dore this soo much thank you John in Australia The soundtracck made it feel like an aline invasion very well done veyr enjoyable and that is coming from a por cameraman
That just shows you. In Florida anything rare can happen. I'm wondering why the state is lucky when it comes to motive power while everyone else is stuck seeing ES44DCs.
@kmothersil I agree. You never know what you are going to see down here. We do have GEVOs though, but not often. We have GP60s, GP39-2s, GP40-2s, GP38-2s, C40-8s, CW40-8s, AC4400CWs, SD50-2s, MP15s, SD40-2s and SD70Ms.
Sweet catch!
