Absolutely amazing - listening to the drummer - it was quite intriguing that many drum rolls in rock and pop felt as though they came from these. What a truly love though, is the sophistication and care an African percussionist puts into one drum - it's incredible. What country are they from?
I´m a black metal guitarist, and I find this inspiring. Some of the drumming in the beginning reminds me a bit of the percussion work in Sepultura - Roots bloody roots.. theres something thrilling with those "triby" damnation drums!
@Nomekiller lol i agree. i have some crazy idea to make progressive metal with west african influences. dont know how im going to do it yet but ima try lol. and im a black guitarist aslo(black as in african-american)
@Kingtunice Aha, well Im a black metal guitarist as in the norvegian black metal scene. ^^
Damn try it, you won´t get far by playing music thats been made a hundred times before anyway. So if you do make some african prog metal stuff I wanna hear it! ;)
yeah you say that rock n roll, rnb whatever came from blues which took some elements from west african music. I under line "some" but those elments are important, blue notes, call and response, more groovy rhythms.
this is wonderful music. i am only 21, and i this is music, none of that boom boom booom nonsense we waste our money in HMV with those artists rapping about guns & knives. peace be unto the person who uploaded this spiritual rhythms
@kindu2006 did you really just refer to rap and hip hop as "boom boom booom" music? im not a fan of those genres, but your ignorance makes any argument preceding that statement invalid.
gayass music

Who the fuck cares whether you're white or 21? Music has no ethnicity nor age.

@rambadibow I know, people just want to boast about how different or unique they think they are for listening to this music. It's a little bit sad.

The drumming in the beginnning reminds me of John Bonhams drum solo in Moby Dick.

Anybody know where I can get some sources for West African Music? I'm doing a partner music project on it.

@kindu2006 Single most ignorantly founded correct statment ever
I'd like to note that the entire first minute of this is ENTIRELY drumming
Dear god man, stop arguing for my opinions, I very nearly want to listen to HMV crap just to do something you wouldn't like

@kindu2006 rap is more than what you har, granted some is just about guns and knives for money, but the real rap is more
