  • That's all guitar and amp. I was plugged straight into my Egnater tourmaster

    4212

  • Is that amp overdrive or pedal??

  • @LesterPaul01 that's the amp...Egnator ..love it! Sorry for the delay in response. I quit checking this thing a while ago!

  • Are the necks of the Classic bigger than say the Special faded or even a Standard one?

I just ordered one online and I got like small fingers. Will that be a prob. I am really worried about ma Investment. A reply would be generous

  • @boscoboys ...I don't have it anymore....but from what I remember, the neck was pretty substantial...not quite a baseball bat..but it was thicker around than my LP standard and definitely thicker than my LP Special. I guess you'd call it a fat "c" shape with a fairly flat fretboard. Hope that helps!

  • great rig to play zztop! :D

  • Sweet playing! I really like your slide work. I also have the same case for my SG. Check out my video of my SG if you get a chance.

  • egnaters and sg classics were mad for each other ! i sat at guitar center for 4 hours playing them. i have 899 only 100 more to go to get this guitar!

  • is it a good idea to attach a bigsby b5 on one of these?

    (probably with a vibramate)

  • I don't see why not. From what I've seen, the stetsbar looks like a pretty good add one vibrato...but it's alot uglier than a Bigsby....

  • Thanks....I appeciate the compliment!

  • You're very good. I like your technique as well, and nice choice of song's to play.

  • IMHO ....yes. The only difference between a Standard and this one is the tuners are the white button tuners (that I swapped for chrome grovers) and there are no inlays. Of course the P-90 pickups are way different from Humbuckers...but I love P-90s.

A new SG Standard will cost you anywhere from $1200-$1500 or more...you can get one of these new for $999. I got mine used for $650!

  • are these guitars just as good as say an sg standard?

  • Better by far

  • @LedZeplican Better.

  • should i get the egnater 4212

  • great tone..ive got an egnater on the wayyy

  • I bought it used in Utah (U.S.) Check ebay. They're not hard to find over here.

  • Where did you buy it, in what country? Seems it's very hard to find in Europe, where I live :(

  • Same problem here, I'd kill to get my hands one of these, but nooo, the big cheeses of Gibson just think to themselves: Let's miss out on a huge market and only distribute this awesome guitar in North America. :(

  • Thank you for the clean.

  • I actually picked this one up used at guitar center for about $700 after tax. Pretty good deal with a hardshell case and all. I love it.

  • I was able to get down to $750 out the door with gig bag brand new at GC during the Easter Sunday sale. I guess the Manager was Catholic. :)

Best sounding SG IMHO....like it better than my 03 Gibson SG standard.

  • this was really helpful but do think it would be better to buy a standard is there a difference in quality of the 2

  • As far as quality goes, these are every bit as good as a standard. The only cosmetic differences are the tuners(which I changed) and no big ol' fat inlays.

Other than that....it's just pickups. This one has P-90s(which I prefer)...standards have humbuckers.

  • how much did u get this 4 cuz i just baught 1 and im waitin 4 it in the mail?!?

  • Thanks Michael!

  • Great job! You Rock!

  • Thanks for the response, I am gonna try to hunt down one SG Classic for myself. The sound is great!

  • Thanks...

I haven't found anything I don't like yet. I thought I wouldn't care for the white button tuners...but these are really tight and stay in tune. The neck feels great and I love the sound.

The only thing that would make this better IMO is just cosmetic. I'd love to see one of these in a "Custom" version with block inlays and all the triple binding...but that's just looks and I'm sure it would raise the price sky high.

The amp was an Egnater 4212 combo

  • Hey man, that sounds really good! Are you happy with that SG Classic? Any flaws you have found? What are you pushing that sound through? It all sounds great, nice guitar work.
