  • I'm trying to play Shining Force III in SSF, but the emulator doesn't support high resolutions, making the game very hard on the eyes.

  • This is a talented introduction that keeps itself formal, yet displays a detailed history and an obvious passion for this series. Equally suited for both formal presentation, and leisure delight. It grabs the interests of those watching, wonderful.

  • HAHA! A lets play! I knew you would have one that wasn't multiplayer...

  • Lol awesome, this feels like a gaming documentary on Discovery with the obligatory english accent of the narrator. This is a compliment btw! Good stuff TB.

  • only played the first shining force..through a sega game pack on pc

  • @nickachu94 same:)

  • I only played the first Shining Force. This one looks pretty interesting.

  • U had me at shining

  • Wow.. Tb sounds a bit epicer than usual ^^

  • TB WAS GOOD BACK THEN ME NO GUSTA !!! xDDD I Preffer the bastard tb !!!

  • Why isn't this in the LP Archive?

  • Man, I miss the old TB, Killing him in planetside and having my jaw drop when I stumbled upon this video so many years ago,

Then stumbling on him again when I saw WTF is LoL, Unfortunately he is going to ignore everyone in planetside 2 and have a posse following him and killing everybody who touches him, Man, TB was so much happier and nicer back in the day "Excluding planetside forums, of course"

  • A trip to the past for me...

  • Whoa,... mind trip bro!

  • I liked TB when he had real descriptions

Not just some copy pasted spam links of facebook and twitter.

  • TB has any right in the world to critizize other LP's after this masterpiece.

  • He sounds so fresh faced @w@

  • He's right, he really did put a lot of work into this 0.o

  • One of his most recent tweets "Had an idea for a new series, can't wait to get back and start on it." one tweet later "It's not a fucking Let's-Play." Lol, TB, I love you ^^

  • Shining Force 2, best one :P

  • I forgot how different TB sounded back then :)

  • I didnt know TB's channel was this old :o

  • Such an amazing introduction TB :]

  • You sir... are Awesome

  • HE DID A LETS PLAY!

  • "Guy-DAN"

    "Sudoken"

You aren't great at pronouncing things, are you? >_>

  • This is SO OLD! Haha

  • Camelot. I called it as soon as I heard the music, it was very similar to the kind of thing in Golden Sun.

  • "Sudoken"

oh god what have you done

  • Wow man, you really do great introductions. I've watched your SC2 vids too, and i enjoy 'em. Keep it up.

  • For those who watch this and want SF 1, 2 or Shining in the Darkness, they are on Steam for $3 each or you can buy the sega pack (#4) for $7.50, US currency.

  • I forgot to put it in there, but long live the old tactical games. They actually made you think about your moves, as you stated in the first battle video, "You don't try to take no damage, but have someone buffed up enough to take it, and a healer ready to help them out" I know that wasn't the exact quote, but I always find myself going back to the oldies, as my Shining Force, Doom95, and Quake II. Just gotta love the classics huh?

  • You are good at introducing games, keeps up the good work. I have "Shining Force" on an extremely old disc called "Sega Smash Pack 2"

  • Quite decent narration, with only a couple quibbles (gaiden pronounced "guy-DAN", and suikoden pronounced "sudoken"). Nice to see an awesome game (which I own) given the love it deserves. It should be noted, however, that in Japan the Saturn was relatively successful, but Japan's market alone is certainly not enough to prop up the rest of the world.

  • komische gesichter o.O

  • I'm following your SF III LP all the way!

  • i would wanna play this game on an emulator but it`s

    problebly not around any more

  • @draakgast IT IS!! AND TRANSLATED!! ALL OF THE 3 SCENARIOS!! FOR MORE INFO ASK!!!

  • @Se7suna1 okay emulator and senarios pls

  • @draakgast srry for taking so long to answer, i dont pay much attentio to my youtube account... but ok here goes:

for emulator i chose the SSF_011_alpha_R5 (google it and download it, easy)

for the games, TRANSLATED (OH YEAH!!), google (shining force III translation project and follow the instructions on the website, if u r having any problems let me know!

  • Thank you for bringing back to me so much memories.

  • I love this game too bad the others never reached English or American shores similarly with Earthbound 2

  • thats a pretty cool video, had no idea the complete history on the shining force games, and I, btw, dont hear anything about Shining the Holy Ark lol

  • @NpS1990 Well that's because it's a history of Shining Force, not the spin-offs.

  • Not to nitpick or anything, but you said "Suidoken" instead of "Suikoden". Not a big deal, I know.

    Your voice is sex, though.

  • awsome i thinkk the force games are the funnest just cuz of the game play .. but i never got my hands on shining force 3 : ( really want it

  • I feel like a fool. Why, you're most certainly not asking? I thought this was going to have some semblance of gameplay. Yet lo and behold, I did not read the description until after 4:50.

  • The first game I saw carry over (besides Shining Force for Sega CD) was Suikoden 1/2

  • Amazing job, this project brings back many fantastic memories. It's ashame most fans of the Shining Force series never had the opportunity to play scenarios two and three

  • Awesome. I've started to play through Shining Force III part 1 again for like the fifth time also, and will be going onto parts 2 and 3 for the first time aswell.

Will be sure to watch your videos as I play along.

  • You gain my subscription ALONE for this! Awesome!

  • I've gotta admit TB, I know you've been doing intos and stuff like this for years. But you kick ass at introducing stuff lol...

I want you to introduce me if i ever win an award or whatever ;)

  • YOU ARE A SUPER BIG FAG

  • Dude, I'm serious, the internet is, too.

  • Actually, no. It's soo-ee-ko-den.

  • It's pronounced "That fucking japanese game with the stupid name."

  • roflcopters

  • Actually it's spelled "Suikoden" but it's pronounced more like "Throatwobbler Mangrove".

  • Honestly who really gives a fuck outside of people with no real lives?

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH,

    I AM DEFINATELY WATCHING THIS,

also the only optional boss in this game makes the final boss and the undefeatable boss before that seem like pebles

  • Very nice job with the intro but there are a couple mistakes. Shining in the Darknesse was the first Shining game. You also forgot to mention the other Shining dungeon crawler called Shining the Holy Ark for the Saturn.

  • Ermm, Shining in the Darkness was mentioned as the first shining game at 0:44. Shining the Holy Ark has no relevance to a history of Shining Force, which this is. It's a dungeon-crawler, and this is an introduction to the Shining Force series, not the Shining series.

  • Ah, my mistake then. Don't know how I missed it the first time.

  • I disagree. shining the holy ark definitely has relevance to shining force 3. they take place in the same world except shining the holy ark takes place 10 years earlier. you even encounter julian, the lead character in shining force 3 he tells you he lost his father when he was investigating a haunted house in the woods. later on in sf3 he wants to revenge his death by killing the legendary galm, the strongest of all vandals as julian finds out he killed his father. it's amazing storytelling

  • What's your point? What exactly are you disagreeing with?

  • "Shining the Holy Ark has no relevance to a history of Shining Force"

    this

  • Look man, what you think was said and what was actually said, are two very different things. I have the script for this video right here, and Shining the Holy Ark isn't mentioned once. Criticism is fine, it helps one get better, but making things up is not helpful.

  • I'm not making anything up I'm even quoting what you said and what I disagreed with.

  • If that's the case, link the exact time that I mention Shining the Holy Ark.

  • I know I'm a little late to the party here, but drunkensailor122 was referring to your comment to rickrudesmustache and not to the video.

  • Why don't you try to make a professional career out of your voice, as narrator for TV programmes TB? This is really awesomely done TB, your voice is pure awesome, especially when serious/sombre.

  • @ZexionII Your comment is so win it's amazing. Because he did. :P

  • @ZexionII WIN!

  • @ZexionII To think that 3 years later he would be an internet superstar.

  • @ZexionII he did . hes a youtube god by now :)

  • @ZexionII oh well... look at him now

  • @ZexionII Little did he know, he was kind of right, for the great TB rose as an E-Sports commentator.

  • It would be nice if you mention Shining The Holy Ark since it's partly associated with Shining Force III.

  • While that's true, it's also not a Force game, so doesn't really have any relevance to this particular video.

  • nice, loved the shining force games :)

  • Bwhaha. Love his posh voice.

  • An awesome, coherent introduction! I look forward to this Let's Play playthrough. :D

  • Cool.

  • lol TB can you make a voicemail message for me your voice is awesome
