At UC Davis, Chancellor Katehi has overseen the opening of a whole USBANK branch in the center of campus, and the mandatory reissue of new student ID cards that double as credit/debit cards for USBANK checking accounts. It is clear where our chancellor stands: with the money, not the community.

@overseermole so here is the outlook. We seem to hit katehi pretty hard on this one. I do not disagree. But what about US Bank. Are we saying the they have no part in this.

@neergar USBANK is one of the biggest profiteers of student loans, they have been invited onto campus by Katehi. Yes, they pay rent for the space they have in our Memorial Union building right next to our campus bookstore. However, this is a sign of the increasing dependence on privatization and corporate influence in our university system. This is not just due to CA budget cuts, they are spending more than a hundred million on new buildings so far this year.
