All I'd say is that the music overpowers the actual dialogue and sounds from the episode. Dramatic music only works if you can hear what its being dramatic about.
@tardiselliot Ah, I found it- for others that are looking for it, it can be found on his music site, in the album "New Series Mixes", titled as "CIN Howell".
Oddly enough, he's extremely disappointed in the track...can't imagine why, I think it's excellent.
I know I've commented on this video before, but, if I were ever to play the doctor, if I ever will it probaly would be 20 years from now, I want this as my theme tune!!!! Such a great virsion of the theme!!!!
I think the music was too loud as is always the case nowadays. The original was better. As another poster said, it's too new Dr Who ish. In other words not that great.
Brilliant work with the closing credits theme, very very fantastic, that would be brilliant if that theme you created was on an actual episode, well done tardiselliot
Holly shit I totally forgot that how Anthony Ainley became the Master. Love the new mix with that scene. Ive not seen that since I was a kid and it was in rerun in 1990
But I liked Paddy Kingsland's music better. More subtle. This is theatrical but too "New Doctor Whoish". I can't understand people hating Kingsland's tunes, it's atmospheric what this particular story needs.
@tardiselliot Murray Gold is a talentless hack. His music is way too loud and extremely crass. His "Harry Potter Meets Star Wars" soundtracks try really hard to make the show sound silly. Gold treats the audience like morons by overplaying every "emotional" scene with loud, bombastic, tuneless garbage that somehow still manages to be boring. I'll be glad for the day when we're finally rid of him. I really wish Steven Moffat had at least tried someone else for a few of the episodes.
@icemachine79 Dont like his music much either. But at least it has been turned down in volume a bit, and some of it has actually started to sound "decent"
im not sure where its from. i know there was a certain website. look up something like ressurection of the daleks next time trailer on utube. im sure there was a link on that vid

Where did you get the theme remix from, out of curiosity? I've searched Danny Stewart's site, but can't seem to find it...

@VRNProductions

@tardiselliot Oh yes Danny Stewart was on the credits for the remix, but you did a very good job too editing the ending of this episode

I dont hate the original scores at all, i just fancied giving this a go

With the exception of the music drowning out a bit of the dialogue, it was well timed.
Great idea!

@YourPhilOfCanada
thanks very much. I admit it could be tweaked to sound a bit better, but i think i was probably trying to drown out the original audio
tardiselliot 2 years ago
That's what I figured you were trying to do. I've tried doing this sort of thing before, and I know it's really hard.
You've done a great job tho... the timing at the end was great!

I've now seen the keeper of traken, logopolis and castrvalva and I rather think this piece gives the 4th doctor a brilliant sendoff

I'm not a fan of Roger Limb's music, but I prefer it to the pompous cod-Hollywood stuff Murray Gold produces. Nicely edited clip tho.
