Well, I recommend that this video should be reuploaded & the background music is change with the soundtracks of the movie the Last Samurai, & one more thing, I see some female participants, I wonder why.......
Did you go this year? I finally made it - as a viewer, I missed the sign-up date. It was pretty intense. Though a couple of scenes were not positioned well for spectators to see.
Then you heard that weird disco music especially at the end. That was so out-of-place! Pretty intense re-enactment even more so than the Uesugi Matsuri in Yonezawa. Liked how they used the river.
Yeah, the event was a spectacle for sure, and youre right about that music, haha. I thought they wanted us to finish with some Saturday Night Fever dance or something. I didnt see the Uesugi event in Yonezawa, do you have some photos or a vid posted anywhere online?
not yet but it's in the works. If you check my tokyo youtube gathering vid there's two bits of it in there in the intro piece.
Also my biwa player vid uses clips from Uesugi Matsuri done in waterolor to mimic the Gempei War. I plan to do a vid on spear fighting with scenes from the Uesugi Matsuri and Shingenko Matsuri. Stay tuned!
yo iatnem next time heres a hint. there are hidden defense systems in the ground as the event takes place near a A.L.E.I.A base. to attain victory simply activate the defences during the battle. the code to do so is:12177

he was a kensai warrior, a sword saint who uses martial skill with the sword to defeat several enemies at once. In the battle a famous kensai warrior held a bridge against about 50 plus men...that is what is portrayed here.
One of the famous stories of the battle is that Uesugi rode with his troops right into Takedas camp and managed to get close enough to direct one swordblow against Shingen himself. Shingen blocked it with his signalling fan (made of iron) and Uesugi and his troops had to withdraw.
Yeah, if you read the summary of the video, i said its open to anyone. I think you pay around 2000 yen (approx. $20 USD) and theyll supply the armor for you to use for the day, lunch, and a photograph. Sounds like a very reasonable deal to me. I believe this event takes place annually in mid April.
Awesome footage. I was on Takeda's side this year and it was a blast! It does make it a little difficult to video though. The fee is only 2000 yen, and I think part of it goes to a pretty decent bento. Hope you had fun.

The MK theme is a wrong choice for this vid.
You should have had the Battle of Kawanakajima theme from the game Samurai Warriors. That or the Last Samurai.
Other than that its a great vid. The reenactment was epic. :)
