  • did u use real katana's? and cut each others head?

  • this song is lame change it plz

  • When I go to japan I would love to do something like that.

  • man i went to this in 08 and it was pretty intense i was a foot soidier with a flag i was fuckn scared

  • music sucks.

  • for those who dont know the opening music was the theme from the game Mortal Kombat. Best game ever by the way.

  • Kensai (sword saint)-isnt that the guy on the bridge killing everyone

  • The MK theme is a wrong choice for this vid.

You should have had the Battle of Kawanakajima theme from the game Samurai Warriors. That or the Last Samurai.

Other than that its a great vid. The reenactment was epic. :)

  • Well, I recommend that this video should be reuploaded & the background music is change with the soundtracks of the movie the Last Samurai, & one more thing, I see some female participants, I wonder why.......

  • Did they used real sword during the reanctment? I'm just wondering if they did.....

  • yea...the reenactment was good, but the music...not so much. Nice try though.

  • Why you son of a bitch, you killed the moment with the music.

  • you absolutely rights, this music shit

  • there were a lot of war banners in samurai battles.

  • You seriously killed it with the lame music..

  • Man Japan is great great reenactment I would love to participe in something like this.

  • Did you have to ruin it with the horrid music?

  • I agree you should had put some japanese music or some samurai music related like Last Samurai or other movie.

  • i would love to participate in something like that. i could use the laser grids in the ground to attain victory.

  • DAM IT! JAPAN KICKS ASS!!! XD

    Im obssed with JAPAN! ^____^

  • there is only one WAY for Samurai that is Bushido

  • wow this amazing, I'd love to see this thing. I love how into it the guys are. And to the guy who asked what the song is... are you shitting me?

  • what is the name of this song

  • i recall this song from the movie "Mortal Combat." The movie came out around 1995

  • Did you go this year? I finally made it - as a viewer, I missed the sign-up date. It was pretty intense. Though a couple of scenes were not positioned well for spectators to see.

  • Yeah, I participated this year with a group of 9 others. I had the honor of playing one of the captains for Takeda's side, haha.

  • Then you heard that weird disco music especially at the end. That was so out-of-place! Pretty intense re-enactment even more so than the Uesugi Matsuri in Yonezawa. Liked how they used the river.

  • Yeah, the event was a spectacle for sure, and youre right about that music, haha. I thought they wanted us to finish with some Saturday Night Fever dance or something. I didnt see the Uesugi event in Yonezawa, do you have some photos or a vid posted anywhere online?

  • not yet but it's in the works. If you check my tokyo youtube gathering vid there's two bits of it in there in the intro piece.

Also my biwa player vid uses clips from Uesugi Matsuri done in waterolor to mimic the Gempei War. I plan to do a vid on spear fighting with scenes from the Uesugi Matsuri and Shingenko Matsuri. Stay tuned!

  • yo iatnem next time heres a hint. there are hidden defense systems in the ground as the event takes place near a A.L.E.I.A base. to attain victory simply activate the defences during the battle. the code to do so is:12177

  • here's a hint. stop posting spam sh*t. that way people would actually care more that 2 flying figs about what you have to say.

  • i would love to see one of these types of reenactments in person--i do not think the music was a good choice though.

  • trust me, the music here is a lot better than what I heard at the same re-enactment just recently. It was some kind of weird ass disco enka music.

  • wow these guys really know how to reenact great job!

  • はは、甲斐ですか???

  • i already love the video after 5 seconds, EXCELLENT

  • he was a kensai warrior, a sword saint who uses martial skill with the sword to defeat several enemies at once. In the battle a famous kensai warrior held a bridge against about 50 plus men...that is what is portrayed here.

  • ...and he was protrayed as a team-killer too

  • Kickass!

  • all of this looks so much fun but the only bad part is that most of the ppl dont know how to actually fight and make everything so dramatic.

  • true, you have to admit the guy on the bridge somewhat knew what he was doing, but who's side was he on?

  • lol, SToP killiNg everyone!!!

  • He was dressed like Takeda, but he killed Uesugi and Takeda

  • I don't think Takeda and Uesugi actually met in single combat. Did they?

  • They had huge armies so probably not

  • One of the famous stories of the battle is that Uesugi rode with his troops right into Takedas camp and managed to get close enough to direct one swordblow against Shingen himself. Shingen blocked it with his signalling fan (made of iron) and Uesugi and his troops had to withdraw.

  • Do they let gaijin like me participate? Where is the best place to get your armor and weapons?

  • Yeah, if you read the summary of the video, i said its open to anyone. I think you pay around 2000 yen (approx. $20 USD) and theyll supply the armor for you to use for the day, lunch, and a photograph. Sounds like a very reasonable deal to me. I believe this event takes place annually in mid April.

  • very cool! i want to join and i like both side.

if there are the battle of Tedorigawa, i want to die as Nobunaga's side in the river.lol

  • Awesome footage. I was on Takeda's side this year and it was a blast! It does make it a little difficult to video though. The fee is only 2000 yen, and I think part of it goes to a pretty decent bento. Hope you had fun.

  • Cool!

    Did you join?

  • No, not this year man. I missed the registration deadline, but Ill be there next year, samurai armor and all. Moorrrttalll Koommmbbaattt, haha!

  • where do you go to register?
