If you think about it, Sheldon's new chess pieces would not have worked (how is the serpent supposed to occupy the same square as its victim and why would one want to use the grand empress to poison an enemy piece when she could as easily take it out the normal way?).

@TheBongoFrenzy if the serpent attacks a piece, that piece must be moved immediately the next turn. and sometimes you need to get rid of a piece, but capturing it will expose your king, so the grand empress would be useful in some situations
