  • @4:45 till the end - well said!!!

  • Sampling an artist's work may help "fuel that song", but that just means that most everyone interested in it is going to go download it for free.

  • @CrandMackerel not at all true. since the start of downloading culture and limewire and what not record sales have gone up. explain that?

  • @OgrAdaY population increase

  • god hes cute

  • he was waaaaaaasted at the end of the performance!! lol

  • HELL YEAH! GIRL TALK IS AWESOME!!

  • whats the name of the intro techno song??? i havent heard that song in forever, and i cant remember the title or artist

  • @TomekSays "All the Things She Said" by TATU

  • i love how composed he is in the interview and then when he is performing he goes apeshit

  • He's going nuts

  • he said DNB !!! respect level went up again!

  • @djbeatjerky804 thats why you don't just stand there and watch. You've gotta DANCE and PARTY while at his shows, otherwise, of course its gonna suck.

  • The end product is cool to listen to. Not very entertaining to watch though. Staring at a laptop screen and clicking a mouse. Jumping around a bit here and there. I will admit that his mixes are good though. Cant take that away from him.

I would like to see him use a Rane 68 mixer and four turntables with no auto sync to keep shit on time for him.

  • @djbeatjerky804 Trademark from Evolution Control Committee could do that. Oh wait, that's cause he invented the mash up.

  • he so right. i cant tell you how many "new" songs i have found through listening to his music.

  • they arent original songs, hes just DJing

  • You guys ever heard of STEEL PANTHER? Used to be called METAL SKOOL. These guys all make mid-6 figures just being a great cover band. He's an artist....arguably a musician if you decide that a musician is playing notes and chords that were already combinated before in a way that's being ripped over and over. Is a turntablist performing on a musical instrument? Does scratching a record in different ways to create different sounds consist of creating music? All things to think about I guess.

  • LOL @ TLSergeant: I'm sure when hot girls are f*cking the hell out of him all night long, the thing that is most prevalent on his mind is, Damn! I wish these girls were really humping me because I was playing a guitar instead of a record. I'm sure Radio DJs feel the same way.

@ all: For the record, there are a lot of bad DJs and mashup artists out there. We should be celebrating the good ones like Girltalk and 2Many DJs. Much thanks to the artists!

  • Girltalk is the best mash-up artist out there. Seriously. The only person that comes close is E-603.

  • @maxgrules Or super mash bros, DJ jewboy, weekend of hedonism. But def. the closest is E-603

  • I wouldn't want to be famous and known for using other people's material. That's just lame.

  • Its a completely different form of art. You cant think about it in that way. Hes using the "colors" of songs as a way to make his own creations. Not everything works together and for this guy to be able to see what works and what doesnt so well is just amazing.

  • ha i see it as he takes other peoples songs and makes them better. i dont like most of the songs he takes samples from but i love all of his mixes.

  • you obviously havent listened to enough girl talk

  • i agree.

  • @TheLoneSergeant like every rapper ever to exist?

  • Greg is so sick, and goldenguy you should do terrible things to yourself for not understanding sarcasm <<<<<That wasn't sarcasm by the way

  • He looks so much better hairy.

  • wuts the song played at the last 5 sec or so of this video>>>>????

  • t.A.t.u - all the things she said

  • oh now wait, im sorry that's at the beginning of this video, what at the end?? like the last 10 seconds?

  • he was so right about the whole looking up a sample song and then downloading it, therefore in a way supporting the artists he samples. i downloaded good by better than ezra and born slippy by underworld after hearing their samples in his songs, and i bought them on itunes so they actually made some money off this dude

  • But doesn't he use only 30 seconds of each song?

  • greg gillis u are an inspiration to me, although u really wig out during your performances. So i have decided to do a song mix of this interview.

  • i love your music though.

  • so when people are promoting your songs through youtube videos, why the fuck are you freaking out saying they will go to jail? A bit hypocritical??

  • It was a joke. Dont you get it.

  • goldenguy55 fails. so hard.

  • "It's amazing to manipulate these nostalgic connections and make something new out of it."

    Yep.

    Hiya RyanIsHungry. :)

  • what about 2 many djs ?

  • don't bring 2manydj's into this, there too good.

  • I love hearing people who've broken conventions talk because they always have some massive well-articulated philosophy behind their actions to justify themselves and it's always awesome.

  • Gregg is the perfect amalgamation of the delinquent (DIY/open-minded), hipster (cultured/creative) and the square (techie/geek). God I hate him :D

  • Does anyone know if there is a album for the Rosekilde concert?

  • a guy who understands the world he lives in

  • All the samples are listed on Wikipedia if anyone else is as big a nerd as me and wants to read them!

  • For lack of a better expression... word.

  • very well put gregg
