First I'd like to say great work. This is a great video to help the many of us that have thrown money away before trying this fix. Second, after three years seamokatinas, you are still answering questions related to your video. Great job and very patient. Big ups to Ireland from the US.
you will need a 12-14v power supply, car amplifier and a lead that would have one end with headphone jack (connect to laptop) another end RCA (goes to amplifier). If you have home amplifier that is capable to handle 2-4 ohms will be less hassle cos no separate power supply needed...
I have a pair of guitar speakers that are'nt made anymore, the one speaker has a few small tears on the surround the other was mutilated but the spider was intact and the coil was still a bright copper color, can the old coils be salvaged for reconing?
could you please tell me what did u use to bond the wire on the coil ?? I have been trying to fix my sub many times and what ever I use the wire always gets lose after operating the sub .. (It holds only for some times ) as soon as the heat go up the wire BOOOOOO ... lose ..
My plug(speakers jack) fails,i have two subwoofers, one failed on left side and one failed on the right side, how do i fix it?now my two woofers have only 1 speakerjack left of each :( HELP!
Also, the sub has a VERY slight rattle to it, and if you pressing the top of the sub just the slightest bit uneven, it sort of grinds. On my other subs I can push on them however and it is smooth as glass
if parts start to come apart then your voice coil not sitting straight on the magnet, that`s causing voice coil to rub on the side of the magnet and you hear grind noise.
yep you are right about bottle and yes i do it by hand, it`s only 100-200 winds per coil. Old glue comes off pretty easy, glue debonder does a good job as well
thank you for helping me understand. That rumor about Audiobahn using fake voice coils in their DVC subs kind of hurts my feelings to hear that about a decent company
hello, I"m trying to fix an old Kicker L7 12" The voice coil is fine, it's just the tinsel lead wires that were the problem, would like to know how to get the glue off of the cone and voice coil wires, so that I can change them for new ones.

hey i was wondering if you could help me, i put my 12" mtx jackhammers in storage for like 2 weeks while i was painting my truck and when i took them out i noticed one had a small crack in the cone, about an inch long, is there a way to fix it cause i really like my subs and dont want different ones

if the spider is ok then it`s a bit strange, in any way you will have to remove spider with cone to investigate what`s causing the problem, 90% it will be a voice coil
hello , my sub makes a horrible rattling sound , I don't know what;s wrong with it and I'm too scarred I might make it worse , what do you think should I get it repaired by a pro or get a new one ? I got this one from a garage sale for 2 bucks . thanks alot :)

How can I regulate the wats W? to make a stronger speaker, and more difficult to burn? should i use a thicker coil, or more windings? thanks, for the great vid :)
Hi, first off, great how to vid. I have one of these that froze up on me, could be burnt coils or misalignment of the magnet, so im going to open it up as you described, my question is when you recoiled the first set, is the bottle just to assist with maintaining the shape on the driver? second when you started winding up the second set of voice coil, how did you prevent it from touching the first set, or this does not matter? Any advice will help, and thanks again for your posting.
How did you use the bondloc? my 15" kicker cvrs surround came off from the metal and i want to put back together how do i do it? which ones do i use and how? thanks cool vid 5 stars!

Cool, wondering if I should try it on a blown sub I got left with. Couple of questions:
1. How do you determine length of wire needed for rewind?
2. Is the wire glued when you rewind it?
3. What does the multitester 3.6 measure indicate, is that ohms?
4. For a dual voice coil, does the one wire go over the other or side by side?
OK, couple more than a couple questions! Thanks.
