After milling the layout, you have your paths isolated from the rest of the board, that works, but aren't there any disadvantages of having so much copper around?You could easily short-circuit 2 of the pins if the soldered metal goes just a tiny bit beyond the cuts, right?
@poweredBYGDK Milling: Put copper board in machine. Secure to table. Export design from EAGLE to CNC program. Press GO! button. Wait for machine to finish using one bit. Change to drill. Change to milling bit. Seven steps.
Etching: Print out design, mirrored. Tape to Copper. Use iron to heat up toner. Let cool. Use water to remove paper. Use alcohol + brush to remove oxidation. Place in etchant. Agitate etchant. Rinse board of etchant. Drill Holes. Cut from excess copper board.
In some cases, yeah . But personally I can spend a whole afternoon etching one or two medium sized pcbs (I'm slow, I know). Besides, I hate the trouble regarding the acid's disposal.
The feedrate on the video is quite slow, though (or maybe he just used a slow feedrate intentionally, dunno).
you can get these bits from farnell but a they are a little expensive there....If u need for home use then i suggest you buy some at ebay...and break the plastic top to attach them to the router...

Hello friend.
I enjoyed your cnc machine, I wonder if you could send me the project or study materials, so I can make one for me.

@cumesoftware
Because it's easier, faster, cheaper and you don't need to mess with acid :D
