The assumption of about 1 KW...is too high....you are assuming that the wave will cycle about 1 sec...the 4 feet up and down is a better assumption ...but the wave cycle will be about 5 seconds or so...Hence, energy extraction as shown here will be limited to say less than 250 watts...if you get the 4 ft stroke....In reality, the behavior including friction will be definitely produce 100 watts or less
