@AngelMaeSing Real music? I'm sorry but I just don't agree. Mariah used to and still sometimes makes good music instead of that pop in and for the moment trash that's out now with all this auto tune. I must give Bey her props though, at least she sings and she has a good voice, I don't like her technique but she does have a powerful voice and pretty good range. I personally preferred Whitney's sound over her, but she's alright. But her music is not that good. Her Sahsa Fierce album was terrible.

Mariah and Whitney were way better years ago than they are now. Neither one can barely get through their own songs today. Either one can do each others songs and do great job at it.

Mariah and Whitney were way better years ago than they are now. Neither one can barely get through their own songs today. Either one can do each others songs and do great job at it.

@butterfly1ob I disagree. Both voices have deteriorated because of vocal nodules. But I prefer Whitney's velvety soulful voice. Mariah is also spectacular!

@ThePharaoho Whitney's voice is just destroyed mostly cause of drugs, let's be honest, she had a really long pause from singing so there is not other reason of that. And Mariah had no break for a long time. I love Whitney's old voice! But as an artist, it's Mariah that i appreciate the most - amazing songwriter.

@butterfly1ob Let's be honest then, shall we? Whitney just recently in 2007 had vocal surgery to remove her vocal nodules. The surgery, if you are a vocalist, you should know, is a risky one. Julie Andrews had the same surgery and lost her voice for good, at least Whitney still has one. If you listen to Whitney's performances at the world music awards in 2004 and others in 2005 and 06, she sounds like herself, but 2007and after, different.

@butterfly1ob This is one of the reason's why Mariah does'nt get hers removed, she knows the risks. Mariah has had her nodules since her Butterfly era and Whitney since after her bodyguard era by touring too much.Mariah didn't tour at all during her first 2 albums while Whitney has toured with everyone of hers. Furthermore, drugs does'nt effect the vocals as much as you think. Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday, ect. all did drugs longer than Whitney and still could blow.

@butterfly1ob True. Mariah was the greater all around artist, but recently her artistry has slipped to appeal to this new knucklehead generation. Her albums after butterfly are lackluster to me. Her whispering over a hip hop beat trying to be barbie is a little redundant and played out for me. Too bad because her songs and image used to be so great; she's still a super singer, but her artistry has nose dived.

@ThePharaoho yeah true, i'm so dissapointed sometimes when i see her on stage wearing tight pink dress, with breasts out. but notice, it started when she became more independent. she's always been kinda diva, liked to dress up etc, they just didn't let her before. she goes over the top with it now. have u heard the latest version of "Everybody hurts"? It took a bit of rest and sleep, and she sounds as beautiful as 20 years ago

@ThePharaoho and also about the music, it is very different, but u can see that even if she writes sth like "Bye bye", people don't like it so much. and the latest album, although it is not what i expected, it is fabulous. even if it's hip hop, r&b or whatever, she still has her own irrepleaceable style
