  • We are so lucky to have these recordings. This great artist can live on via our memories.

  • if only i could play like this...

  • with all respect... his playing is unreal... the joy beyond words but what I really love is the popeye meets Cookie Monster vocal ad libs? that for me is where the spirit lies here... just something about that. Probably the rum and checkers has something to do with it? or the Kalik beer (sp?) lol....

  • The only LP I ever stole... mercy! ^..^

  • Somebody linked me one of his songs, and now I can't stop listening to him!

Just puts a huge smile on my face...

  • I've had this record for years, can't find it anymore, thanks for posting, I love Joseph Spence, he gets this against the beat rhythm roll going while maintaining the beat in the bass, with runs.

  • it is sad that many bahamian's don't know about there own music, or older artist such as Spence

  • Pure joy on the guitar - could anyone imaging trying to write this stuff out in conventional notation lol

  • very, very nice

  • Thank you for posting.... this is soooooo refreshing.... Proud to be Bahamian!

  • Now I know where Chet got his style

  • absolutely one of a kjnd. an incomparable genius, born in Paradise

  • Joseph Spence. Makes me proud to be a Bahamian, love his music he is an inspiration, especially as I am also a guitarist.

  • EXCELLENT. More people should know about Mr. Spence.
