I became an Elvis fan when I first heard this concert in 1976. I wasn't even in my teenage years yet but I was totally entranced and even shocked by Elvis and the audience reaction. I wish I had been old enough to go and see him in concert. Still, I am even more of a fan today and forever will be.
Elvis is in fine shape vocally and physically. He has a lot of fun on this album probably because he is playing to his hometown fans.It is not my favorite of his live albums but it is a very good live show. I do not like it as well as the others because the orchestra only has the brass at this show. It is minus the strings and reeds and the overall effect isn't quite as good as it is on Madison Square Garden or the Aloha From Hawaii Albums.
Hopefully RCA will re-remaster this album and bring out the backbone of the show (the band) a bit more like they did on the recently released 25th anniversary Aloha show.
The horns are overbearing and need to be toned down. Overall its a good album and worth having in your collection
magnifique, un medley trop top, j'aime ça des peitis clins d'oeil à pleins de superbes chansons , beau partage, fan de rock and roll. ELVIS le meilleur . Amicalement Aline
Switching between the differenct footage was smart, inspired and -- unlike so many similar projects -- Elvis' movements are "in the pocket" the entire time. Perfect!
I bought this concert on cassette when i was in Memphis many years ago and couldnt believe how on fire that night the King and his band were alot more than the Aloha shows. Hope this concerts makes it dvd one day. Long Live the King...
This was the best concert recorded that I have ever heard, period. I just don't mean in performance. It was recorded with state of the art equipment for that time. I wish there was enough avaiable film from his '74 Memphis shows to put all together with this audio. Maybe all us fans should try to look for more home movies of this engagment and get it all together for us!
most fantastic rockn'roll medley ever heard in concert, elvis produced nothing less than electricity when on stage, still miss him and the great entertainer he was. thanks for uploading this great clip, its spectacular
I wonder what is the most impressive : the great quality of this medley (which is indeed remarkable) or the amount of work invested to create this video. I think that both are fantastic... Thanks for posting!
great video !

To clarify, he won a 2nd Grammy for his performance of "How Great Thou Art" during this concert. The first was for the 1966 studio version.

He probably sang his old hits because he was back home. And it's been 20 years after he performed live in Memphis!

i don't know why so many people say Aloha From Hawaii was his Last Great Concert Released Recording when Elvis Presley was Alive.
As far as i'm concerned this March 20th,1974 concert was his Last Great Concert Released Recording when Elvis Presley was Alive.
