My cat is 15 lbs and I can totally see him falling in and then being afraid to ever use the toilet again. I guess I could cut a whole out of a plastic storage box and make a kitty toilet with some pine litter in the bottom.
I have the citikitty toilet training system and it really messed with my cat's head. One morning Lily did both jobs in the training seat when I was getting ready for work. Ten minutes later she jumped on the bed and peed on the bed. Why would she do that if she knows where her toilet is??

what could be simpler or more hygienic? did you watch the video? by definition, removing steps from the process is simplification. so if you take the kitty litter out of the equation altogether, then that is simpler, nevermind less wasteful. and if the toilet isn't hygienic enough for you, what do you use yourself?

thing is, they took your invention and improved on it a little bit, because yours is a softer plastic. i tried to use your system to train my cat, and he always wanted to step on the plastic part, but after i cut out the middle ring it wouldn't hold his weight and it scared him and he stopped using it.

I haven't videoed her doing the deed cause I am too busy helping her aim. She isn't as good at it as a cat. I will have to try and look into getting it on video first.
It just looks like an insert that goes under the toilet seat to make it like it is a litter box. I suppose you pick up the old litter box and deposit a little used litter in the insert to make the cat go there since the scent will tell the cat "you went here before, go again" even if it really did not go there before. Don't forget, to cats, "the nose knows" ;)

Well, I think it's a great idea and I'm going to try it. I had a lung transplant 7 years ago and am not supposed to be "digging around" in the cat box for little treasures. I bought an automatic one, but it still leaves clumps and when you go to throw the box away, you get a face full of fums!! I had someone doing it for me, but not any more. I TRULY believe that one of the litter companies bought the patent and filed it away, to prevent losing money on litter. We all need to look into this. It really worked. I have had 9 cats, and they all went outside any time they wanted, and they lived into old age.

Our cat runs around outside all the time, and yet he still does his business indoors sometimes. So letting your cat out doesn't always have anything to do with ours. Ours just goes whenever he needs to, and at that time he may be outdoors, of he may be indoors.

Cats shouldn't be allowed out. They can get fleas, ticks, feline Leukemia/AIDS. The can also be injured in fights with other cats and, worst of all, they can be injured or killed by cars. If you really care about your cat you won't let him/her out of the house.
No offense. But I think keeping a cat inside all the time is ABSOLUTLY inhumane! The same could be said for people in prison. They will be safe inside a prison. But I'm sure that any living thing would be happy to trade their life for a few days in the sun, and fresh air. I would, in a heart beat... wouldn't you? well that would work for me because i cant let my cat go outside because we have coyotes. yep my neighbor found the head to her cat one morning without the body so now she has indoor cats
Cats should be allowed it during the day, but kept in at night. Cats are naturally hunters and explorers- they like to dig holes and climb trees. I dresd to think what state your furnitures in! My three have had the run of outside all day, and are now tucked up, asleep.
If you live in a city, or an area with predators, or near busy streets, you're an irresponsible pet owner if you let your cat outside unsupervised. It's one thing to take an outdoor cat and make him a 100% indoor cat - it will yowl at the window incessantly. But start with the cat as a kitten, keep him inside, and there will be no problem.
Cats yes enjoy the outside. But if you have a cat from a kitten age they don't know the outdoors and are usually afraid of it.
But if you insist on outdoor cats, you could also buy this product that allows you to have an escape-proof 'run' for your cat so they can go outside. My neighbour has it and her cats love to be outside during the summer and no one has to worry about them getting hit by a car.

Okay, so what's the point of getting a cat if you're just going to throw it outside and leave the occasional food and water outside? Come on. If you can't brave the weather than your cat most definitely cannot. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your cat. If it's too cold for you it's too cold for your cat.

They have been living outside for thousands of years, and they don't need us to treat them like babies, but as adults. Saying something like that is like saying that any living being should live in a cage. Would you like to live in a nice safe cage? I have had 9 cats, and they all went outside any time they wanted, and they lived into old age.

I'm from Poland. I have two cats, and it will be much easier to teach them that trick :) I haven't seen any where that type of "equipment" (this thing that they put on a toilet), and I don't know where to buy it.

Our cat runs around outside all the time, and yet he still does his business indoors sometimes. So letting your cat out doesn't always have anything to do with ours. Ours just goes whenever he needs to, and at that time he may be outdoors, of he may be indoors.

im from switzerland, we have big cities too of course, but where i live, i got a field in front of my house, a little forrest next to my house, bushes and so forth. i would say dont get a cat if u life in a big city, i will move to a big city soon, and wether i like it or not i cant take my cat with me, its best for the cat. and to mikeyandsatan, the world is a little more complicated than u think! u think war is on cause i disagree with people havin housecats?? lol

I understand the point blackfoot and matekk are making, but what happens if there are no places for a cat to shit? I ask because where I live, I haven't seen any owners of cats let them out to poo. There is no dirt or grass around since I live in the centre of a city. <shrugs>

Cats shouldn't be allowed out. They can get fleas, ticks, feline Leukemia/AIDS. The can also be injured in fights with other cats and, worst of all, they can be injured or killed by cars. If you really care about your cat you won't let him/her out of the house.

No offense. But I think keeping a cat inside all the time is ABSOLUTLY inhumane! The same could be said for people in prison. They will be safe inside a prison. But I'm sure that any living thing would be happy to trade their life for a few days in the sun, and fresh air. I would, in a heart beat... wouldn't you? People think of animals as inanimate objects, that they can just put in the closet when they are done playing with them. They don't belong in a man made prison.

I get sick if I don't go out and get some exercise outside at least once a day. I'm sure that cats are not that different, and probably have the same problem. I think it's only fair that if you cat cannot go outside. They you can't either. Now can you see their point of view?

well that would work for me because i cant let my cat go outside because we have coyotes. yep my neighbor found the head to her cat one morning without the body so now she has indoor cats

Cats should be allowed it during the day, but kept in at night. Cats are naturally hunters and explorers- they like to dig holes and climb trees. I dresd to think what state your furnitures in! My three have had the run of outside all day, and are now tucked up, asleep.

If you live in a city, or an area with predators, or near busy streets, you're an irresponsible pet owner if you let your cat outside unsupervised. It's one thing to take an outdoor cat and make him a 100% indoor cat - it will yowl at the window incessantly. But start with the cat as a kitten, keep him inside, and there will be no problem.

Cats yes enjoy the outside. But if you have a cat from a kitten age they don't know the outdoors and are usually afraid of it.
But if you insist on outdoor cats, you could also buy this product that allows you to have an escape-proof 'run' for your cat so they can go outside. My neighbour has it and her cats love to be outside during the summer and no one has to worry about them getting hit by a car.
