Also if you REALLY need to dry something as quickly as possible, you'll probably just grab a hairdryer if you have it in the room, hang the cloths somewhere and blow through them.

Good tips. On my last extended trip, I got rid of my large suitcase and started washing the clothes that I kept with me. It was a much better travel situation. Didn't need to have something dry this fast, but your different wringing techniques would help make sure something would dry well overnight in colder areas.
