The sensitivity and movement is more precise on mouse then console controllers. Carpal tunnel is also less likely to happen I believe when moving the whole arm for mouse than fingers on a console controller.

M&K give you more aiming speed and more turning speed, it cant be beaten by a pad. A player with a pad could kill one playing with M&K, but only with a lot of luck.

hi, are you using the XFPS Rateup? i had the Frag FX and i hated it, the mouse movement was horrible, i'm thinkng of replacing it with the rateup, can you recommend it? but i didnt see in the info about mapping the D-pad or L3 R3, select and start buttons. Can you do it with just the rateup alone? i see you're using those buttons in this video, but you might have been using the other device you mentioned. Also one last question, i know u can adjust the sensitivity for the mouse, but how far?

Hey do you know if that Max Shooter 2 for Xbox 360 is basically the same as this XFPS? Like is the lag the same? Because I am probably gonna buy Max Shoot for 360 because it's cheaper.
Though the XFPS might be able to be detected if there were ever an update that allowed the console to scan for controllers using certain ranges of input for the left analog stick, it hasn't been done yet, two years after XCM started producing the XFPS. Even if they were detected, use of an XFPS does not break the Xbox or LIVE's Terms of Service, so you could not be banned without that first being revised by Microsoft. If so, a block would likely be imposed instead of a ban. Both are unlikely.
How well the mouse handles is highly dependent on the game played. Games like Gears of War, with a low sensitivity, will feel sluggish and unresponsive, while games with a high look sensitivity like CoD4 will feel much closer to a mouse on a PC. Still, the XFPS is outdated and overpriced, and its only real use is as an adapter for an XIM. Also worth looking in to is an XIM2, a revision of the original XIM geared toward working well with games with sensitivities lower than CoD4's. Namely, Halo 3.

The G5's sensitivity buttons still work to change the DPI between the three preset settings. Actually, the only buttons that I don't recall as working with the G5 were it's side button and the tilt wheel.
As far as sensitivity is concerned, all it changes is how quickly the mouse must move to trigger certain degrees of pressure on the control stick, for both the XIM and XFPS.
An example used could be that a mouse moving at 50cm/second to the "right" (as defined by the game), with the XIM software's main sensitivity set to 6 or the XFPS' sensitivity wheel adjusted to one fourth, will equate to the control stick being tilted 30% in the same direction, while the same mouse using the sensitivity of 12 with the XIM or half of the possible sensitivity of the XFPS will register as the control stick tilting 60% in the same direction for the amount of time the mouse is moved.

what about the sensitivity? can you jack it up to the max? what about G5 mouse with the sensitivity buttons on it, I doubt the xfps would be able to use it tho.
You can turn off auto aim. Sometimes it screws it up, but with the low resolution of COD 4 on the 360, sometimes autoaim helps because it might hang up on a guy you might not see hiding.

I just got a xfps and you say your using a combo of xfps and smartjoy.....how are you using a combo of both? how do you have them plugged into you console?
You can plug the PS2 SmartJoy Frag in to the PS2 controller port on the XFPS. While the SJF has the ability to allow some deadzone configuration, the XFPS does not, so essentially, one is just using the XFPS to allow mouse usage and the SJF to help fix the deadzone issues of the first two XFPS models. Keep in mind that the XFPS 3.0 Sniper has resolved most of the deadzone woes, and so the SJF combo is no longer of much use, in addition to being outdated. An XIM is the better way to go.
Also, using the SJF through the XFPS can result in power issues, where there will be an insufficient amount of power through which certain mice will not work. This is coupled with the lack of USB ports on the SJF. The SJF must be modified to overcome either of these problems.
Provided you are using a Sniper 3.0, you should be fine without a SmartJoy Frag. If not, I would first recommend building/buying an XIM as it will offer better results provided you have a PC you use in conjunction with it.
it gives you the ability to adjust the deadzone. Each game has a different deadzone for the controller. xfps has no way to change it. Even the pro and sniper versions only have sensitivity adjustment but no deadzone.

well you can adjust the deadzone to what you want using the Smartjoy. I usually set it at about 42 for this game. But...gotta wait for full version now.

hi, are you using the XFPS Rateup? i had the Frag FX and i hated it, the mouse movement was horrible, i'm thinkng of replacing it with the rateup, can you recommend it? but i didnt see in the info about mapping the D-pad or L3 R3, select and start buttons. Can you do it with just the rateup alone? i see you're using those buttons in this video, but you might have been using the other device you mentioned. Also one last question, i know u can adjust the sensitivity for the mouse, but how far?

Time and time again, people tell me I should use a different gun. I kindly ask them to tell me what gun to use. Though the XFPS might be able to be detected if there were ever an update that allowed the console to scan for controllers using certain ranges of input for the left analog stick, it hasn't been done yet, two years after XCM started producing the XFPS. Even if they were detected, use of an XFPS does not break the Xbox or LIVE's Terms of Service, so you could not be banned without that first being revised by Microsoft. If so, a block would likely be imposed instead of a ban. Both are unlikely.

How well the mouse handles is highly dependent on the game played. Games like Gears of War, with a low sensitivity, will feel sluggish and unresponsive, while games with a high look sensitivity like CoD4 will feel much closer to a mouse on a PC. Still, the XFPS is outdated and overpriced, and its only real use is as an adapter for an XIM. Also worth looking in to is an XIM2, a revision of the original XIM geared toward working well with games with sensitivities lower than CoD4's. Namely, Halo 3.

The G5's sensitivity buttons still work to change the DPI between the three preset settings. Actually, the only buttons that I don't recall as working with the G5 were it's side button and the tilt wheel.
As far as sensitivity is concerned, all it changes is how quickly the mouse must move to trigger certain degrees of pressure on the control stick, for both the XIM and XFPS.

An example used could be that a mouse moving at 50cm/second to the "right" (as defined by the game), with the XIM software's main sensitivity set to 6 or the XFPS' sensitivity wheel adjusted to one fourth, will equate to the control stick being tilted 30% in the same direction, while the same mouse using the sensitivity of 12 with the XIM or half of the possible sensitivity of the XFPS will register as the control stick tilting 60% in the same direction for the amount of time the mouse is moved.

Of course an XIM can help to improve it past that. At this point, buying an XFPS alone might be a bit wasteful. Hopefully production of the XIM2 will pick up a nice and steady flow, seeing as many people are waiting for the pre-made units over building their own. Even the DIY kit feels like it couldn't get here any earlier than I would like.

You can turn off auto aim. Sometimes it screws it up, but with the low resolution of COD 4 on the 360, sometimes autoaim helps because it might hang up on a guy you might not see hiding.

You can plug the PS2 SmartJoy Frag in to the PS2 controller port on the XFPS. While the SJF has the ability to allow some deadzone configuration, the XFPS does not, so essentially, one is just using the XFPS to allow mouse usage and the SJF to help fix the deadzone issues of the first two XFPS models. Keep in mind that the XFPS 3.0 Sniper has resolved most of the deadzone woes, and so the SJF combo is no longer of much use, in addition to being outdated. An XIM is the better way to go.

Also, using the SJF through the XFPS can result in power issues, where there will be an insufficient amount of power through which certain mice will not work. This is coupled with the lack of USB ports on the SJF. The SJF must be modified to overcome either of these problems.
Provided you are using a Sniper 3.0, you should be fine without a SmartJoy Frag. If not, I would first recommend building/buying an XIM as it will offer better results provided you have a PC you use in conjunction with it.

it gives you the ability to adjust the deadzone. Each game has a different deadzone for the controller. xfps has no way to change it. Even the pro and sniper versions only have sensitivity adjustment but no deadzone.
